After 478 days from the "Please sign your contract" mail
I've got "Your RED ONE is nearly ready to ship"
So 750-1000 are on the run!!!!!!!

Now I can pay the "little" bill..... but soon my babies will be home!

Thanks Jim & all the RED team, and every one here on REDuser, I wrote few but I read a lot!

Nicest day of this stupid winter....

I flew to IBC2006 to make my reservation !!!

The e-mail hit my inbox at 4:18 AM PST!!! (Do you guys ever sleep?) I paid in full a few weeks ago, so I could potentially have my Red by this weekend. WHOA!!! I thought Brent had said Monday or Tuesday next week! I didn't have any time to emotionally prepare myself for this... I feel kinda dizzy...

First email (that was blasted last night) is "your camera is nearly ready to ship" lets you know what we have on file for you, gives you a chance to update our records, and asks you to make changes/adds/deletes to your existing order.

As soon as you get the second email from us (ie, the "your camera is ready to ship") that is the trigger for us to start shipping. So, yes "Monday or Tuesday next week", we start delivering #751-#1000....

If you're refering to the missing words in the emai, that's because they're white text ontop of a white background. Just highlight your them and they will appear...

The great posts of those who are anxiously waiting for the Great Camera are very exciting. Then they all get the camera, one by one. Then you hear nothing from them.

It is like the children's movie. It is great adventure to watch, how the knight in shining armor overcome all odds and finally marries the beautiful princess. Then we are left to assume that they lived happily ever after.

Nobody ever checked into what really happened afterwards. Was there a post marriage falling off. Was their life as smooth as was expected? Nobody knows. I would like to know.

What happened after finally getting all these cameras? did any of them ever get used for any good purpose? Or, are they all sitting in the shelf as dead weight? Are these cameras as good as expected? Any buyers remorse?

Come on guys, let us know.

Weird. Most spam filters will reject emails with what appears to be hidden text.

Jieves, call them, ask to speak to someone in customer service concerning RED #821 and #822. They will then route you to a customer service agent responsible for those numbers. Please confirm your e-mail address with them and they will send you the e-mail. Once you have it... highlight the whole thing to read it and proceed accordingly.

These guys are great, if the number is busy... call again.

Got my e-mail in @ 4:18am for #851 & #852.

This guys wryly never sleep.

Now I wryly fill both the incredible joy and misery of what to do, as I might have to sacrifice one or two cameras in order to get at list one in my hands and start shooting.

Will see.

#694 still did not get more news then that the money is in a bank.

At the moment I am in Milan and no any news from RED or Vienna.

Patience is the best way to go now in this sort of situation.

we also had an issue with the second camera which is on this batch, called red, the issue was solved in some minutes. was only a typo in the email adress.

however, i still have a CATASTROPHIC problem - we still didn´t receive the second titanium "r".

I got it for #842, so check your spam!

If their emails are accidentally including white text on a white background, as indicated earlier in this thread, your spam filters may very well be eating them.

The filters on my server delete emails over a certain spam threshold. I never see them - they don't go to a spam folder.

Expectant Red owners should whitelist possible emails from Red. I can help people do that as I have hosted websites and emails for 16 years. At the minimum, you should add an entry for "@red.com" to your email whitelist.

Could someone who received "the email" tell us:
1. What email address they come from (PM me if you have to)
2. What the IP address of the outgoing mail server is (or PM me the headers from your email and I will sort it out).

Haven't placed an order. Just trying to help.

What happens if one can't reply to that email from RED within a timeframe that is [apparently] specified? I've heard that there is a request for an accessories' order, so that the invoice can be generated? And the timeframe is only a few days for this to occur?

The format our our emails should always be the same - white text on a black background. Some people's filters do eat up the pretty formatting and just leave the copy in black (and sometimes the hyperlinks in white).

As far as what to do if you can't reply before the second email goes out - just reply after the second email :). The window between the first and the second emails is to just get you time to make changes. If you do, you see those changes in the second email. If you don't, you don't. Just a convenience thing - by no means does your RED ONE blow up or anything if you don't get back to us before the second email :)

Each email that goes out has a "Plain Text" portion on the top that provides a link to the red.com website where an online version of the email can be securely viewed. For programs that don't display the "HTML" version properly, this link will normally be displayed.

I just looked at the RED site it clearly says 1001-1250. I wonder if they are going to slow down for NAB? Sucks
