Wasn't there supposed to be a new version of RedCine that was coming out last week? Perhaps there could be some sort of manual for it. I like to think I'm pretty intuitive but I'd rather spend less time figuring it out and more time shooting. Not everyone here is a post-production guy.

I would love to know an ETA on a new version of Redcine...

I need that new version yesterday. The amount of times that the output is a single frozen frame is maddening.

I did hear some guys in a pinch put the media back in the camera and played the audio out from the stereo mini connector. Not ideal by any means.

We are testing a new build of Redcine now and it looks good, we are hoping to unleash it soon, just need to make sure it is solid first.

No audio support yet, there are workarounds to get your audio into your editing system, we are working on integrating audio.

I seem to generate the freeze frame issue when I mix different resolution shots in the same timeline. If you are experiencing this issue I would try keeping like footage in your timeline (ie. render all your 4K footage in a separate timeline, then all your 2K, etc. this seems to fix it for me. I also render my overcranked footage in a separate project.

Kevin do you anticipate this will be released in the next day or so, or a couple weeks from now?

Colin,

I don't have an answer to that, I can tell you that so far it looks good and I haven't run into anything so far that would keep us from releasing it, I'm hoping to complete testing this week. It is getting close to release.

I got a freeze frame just exporting one part of one clip (the only clip in the project) into ProRes. I set an in and out point (a small portion about 2/3 into the clip) and all I got were that many frames of the first frame of the clip. This was on a new project just after trashing Library/Redcine/

My colorist is eager to work on the RED footage but can't deal with Redcine's constant crashing, let alone garbled output. I'm kind of bummed that I spent the extra money on a better video card and am going to end up just burning cycles in Red Alert instead. Of course, I knew that was the risk I was taking when I shot RED at this point in time.
