Can anyone suggest which plguin to install? So far there seems to be three options which are a little confusing.
1. The Final Cut Studio 2 REDCODE Plugin v 1.5.0
2. REDCODE RAW QuickTime codec v1.2.1 BETA (GQ) v1.2.1
3. REDCODE RAW QuickTime codec v1.2.0 BETA (MQ) v1.2.0
which one should we install? 1? 2? both? 3?
thanks for any help on this

Its right there in the release notes . You will need the fcp redcode plugin to edit the proxies if using FCP.
The quicktime plugins are dependent on your needs. You need max image quality quicktime playback use 1.2.1 Need maximum frame rate playback especially if using a laptop use 1.2.0
try them both and see what works for you just remove the plugin from your computer when changing as only one can be installed at any time.
so download 1 and 2 OR 3. But not 2 AND 3

so, basically
install the FCP plugin
and then choose which QT plugin you want as well?

Hmmm... correct me if I'm wrong but the Final Cut Pro "plug in" is just a new version of the Quicktime codec right? At least that's how it looks to me. You really can't install them both. I get certain clips that play correctly with one that don't play correctly with the other.

It looks to me like the new "Final Cut Studio 2 REDCODE Plug in" is just an updated Quicktime component.

Yes, the new FCP plugin is an updated QT component. It's not clear to me from the description if it's going to produce better results when exporting from REDCINE than the older 1.2.1 which is labeled GQ for "grade quality" and "is optimized for maximum image quality" instead of the FCP plugin, which allows (is optimized for?) real time playback.
