Here's an idea. Have your RED shipped to me here in Ashland Oregon (14miles above state line) on interstate highway five and save a bunch of state tax! It's a lovely little hamlet with a world renown Shakespearian theater. I got a friend with a twenty two foot jet boat and we could film you winter steelhead fishing on the Rogue river (think Zane Grey). Heck mayby you could sneek the camera into the Elizabethen theater (the outdoor one) and you could bootleg one of the plays!
Whata you think?

Oh man, I was just imagining how beautiful those shots would be in 4k. I'll have to record some fishing this fall on the Deschutes. Perhaps I should make "A River Runs Through It 2: When Trout Attack."

Gotta love it...
There is a small mountain lake near Ashland (actually a resivor) called Hyatt.
It's at about 5,000 ft. and is aligned north to south. This makes for some truly beautiful sunrises and sunsets. There are old gray snags sticking up out of the water where ospreys nest and bald and golden eagles also hunt. Not to mention white pelicans that skim along the surface of the water and the deer and bear and mountain lion that drink from the lake. Guess I should mention that it is one of the premier trout lakes in the west. Lotsa 18 to 24 inchers even a few larger. But don't tell anyone.

Wow, thanks for the info! If I don't tell anyone, can I at least take my dad and brother there for a fishing trip this summer? They are the true fishermen in the family and I'm the wannabe. I've had better luck dangling my flies over the water than casting 'em.

That scenery sounds amazing though. I may just head down there one of these days to capture the views. Thanks again for the info.

Chazmo,

Yeah it's purty. Comon down! If they aren't bitting at Hyatt, Howard Prarie is just around the corner and Emigrant lake is just outside of Ashland. It's good for bass, crappie and cats. Hyatt has a BLM campground on the far shore but I know where there is a little triangle of BLM land on the other side where you can camp for free. It's a short walk from a lodge with a resturant and the all important bar and place to by bait and beer.
Bring Ford Fender rigs (your old man will know).
