I propose as the Red's start releasing themselves into the world, specifically in the los angeles region, we all exchange a database of phone numbers and equipment owned in case I'm on a shoot and I need to rent a camera or a DP or know of a venue that needs a Red shooter - Just a network where can all help eachother get work and spread the karma butter

aka Los Angeles "little RED book" filled with numbers and dirty secrets...but mainly numbers.

I'm all for that idea. I'm in Thousand Oaks... just a hop, skip and a jump over the hill. I've got a lot of dirty little secrets too. I may or may not be sitting here typing in women's underwear.
I am in Santa Monica. I am # 1050 so projected date I will get mine is September or October.
I have SD 302 3 channel mixer
Schoeps mic with MK41 cap
1 Sennheiser wireless system (plug plus body back and one reciever)
1 handleld mic
1 DVX100A
1 DVX100B
8ft Kessler crane
tripod
2 kino flo 4 banks
2 kino flo parabeam 200
1 - 1k fresnel
1 - 250 watt fresnel
I also am a photographer
I shoot digital with Nikon D200
I have lots of strobes and softboxes.
I bust my ass and can often do the work of several people. I dislike being on set and standing around 90% of the time so only accept work where I can have lots of duties and be kept busy.
I must be paid and also paid for any equipment I use on the shoot.

I'm currently developing a Los Angeles-area RED online database. Basically, publishing complete, detailed listings of personal RED packages and accessories in the area. Will hopefully be modeled like an "L.A.411" for RED. Will announce more when URL is settled on.

Thanks, Tom. Well some guy already owns "RED411.com" so I figured if the ".net" extension is good enough for REDUSER, then, I'll go with "RED411.net." Duh. Didn't even think of this one until I posted that above!

Great idea Ralph. I'm #1438 (December?) and will undoubtedly get a mini if it meets the specs I think RED will probably exceed given their track record. I'll also have a red zoom, underwater housing and Zeiss 12mm.
I may also offer 4K archiving to the group if needed on LTO 3 or DLT 4 - have not decided which one yet.

#142, I'm on board with this. Would do it myself if I had the time.

I'd like to participate as well.
I'm in Brentwood / WLA and I and hope to have #81 mid June.
If things go as well as I hope, Reds will be in big demand.... and having a base of local Red friends to share referrals, for 2nd units and back up is a great idea.
Also, I have a pretty low #, so if any local Red guy's want to come out and play with me and #81 while you're waiting for yours.... Give me a shout.
I met a lot of redusers at nab, and everyone was really cool. LOL.... Kinda like meeting a cousin for the first time, the red conection makes for fast friends.

Wow! That's a pretty generous offer, Sam! I'm sure to be on your list of "new best friends" soon as well! Great to hear of some local RED reservationists, especially those on "this" side of the hill!

A new best friend, sounds good. After all, a man can never have too many friends.
