I have been following Red for awhile now. Even got my reservation in (#622). With the price list for the camera released, I can finally start planning my budget for exactly how much I need financially to get a Red system going. The only problem is I have no idea what setup I should go with.
Do I want to go with a basic production package or premium?
What media should I get?
Is the LCD good enough or is an EVF necessary?
There is a lot of speculation being tossed around on what would be a good package, but I think the only way to decides is to actually try the things out. I may love or hate the red cage. The LCD could be great, or I may get annoyed with it shooting outdoors and opt for the EVF. With operating a camera, so much is personal taste. That's why I was wondering if Red will set up some kind of workshop, camp, test date... etc. that will allow reservation holders to come in and actually see how the camera operates and performs. Unfortunately, I can't make it to NAB due to work (also saving every penny for my camera), but getting down to Red HQ is no problem for me.
