Hi Everyone:
As promised, two quick videos of the Handle System. The webstore will be up later today at www.Simvideo.com.
Please note that the EVF was not available for this demo, but it mounts on the flat metal plate. You will have to use your imagination......the possibilities are endless.
Cheers

Like it.
Where is the actual webtore on your site? Or is the whole aspect of "webstore" not up?
Guess I'll see price then, but when will they ship?
Also, any way to have the actual handle a little lower profile?
Cheers,
Dale

that battery plate is awesome.
any chance you can make your website not resize the browser window, i hate it when that happens.
thanks.

Okay, I'll ask the obvious. Will the EVF mount be available separately and mountable without the handle? And will it beat Element Technica's $950 price point?
I have to say I was sceptical of it compared to ET's mount when I saw the photo but the video makes both bits look really well made.
Good job!

No, unfortunately, it mounts only with the light weight handle system. The pricing will be one complete system.....from battery mount, handle, and viewfinder mount. The only thing
Not only are the parts well made (Anodized Solid Aluminum) but these parts are battle tested....We have over 100 HD cameras with this handle style and viewfinder mount and the AC's have not broken them....lol

John,
Do you have a Red Drive/Battery plate option? Can the existing Red Cradle be mounted to your battery plate base (remove the V-lock and mount cradle to the backing mount) Possible if you took off the swing mount on the Red Cradle...?

Cradle mount is in the works....we should have something in the very near future. As you can see from the way we design, everything integrates into the next peice.
The problem with the RED DRIVE mounts that we had designed was the amount of shock absorbtion needed. We are working on that right now.

FYI All,
I dropped by SIM video today and had a look at this stuff. It is all top grade materials and craftsmanship. This is a very practical and well thought out solution that is highly functional and keeps the overall camera weight down.
The battery plate has the correct holes for three different types of plates. When put together with the shoulder mount this becomes a very elegant and very comfortable solution for handheld work and a quick transition between POD and shoulder.
The folks at SIM have a great reputation for customer service and I was very impressed by the toe-plate which is very strong (as you can see in the you tube video).
Very nice work guys. Rest assured, this stuff is rock solid and the real deal.

Concur, the whole system looks well designed and integrated!
Look forward to a price list and most importantly, delivery schedule!

I have to say I was sceptical of it compared to ET's mount....
ET should go back to designing farm equipment or oil rigs.
Their stuff will look good on a Abraham tank.

Handles should be foldable for transport, don't make it as a rigid one piece part.

I agree with foldablility and being modular. Most important is delivery schedule and price. I am willing to pay for quality, but not overpay.

I anticipate getting the word from RED soon regarding #1162.
Getting down to the wire for decisions on what accessories to order. Any info would be great!

True, comment was unnecessary. Oh and BTW, it's an M1 "Abrams" tank, not an Abraham, which would have been a much, much older model, similar to the Isaac. ;-)

For the record I'm looking at a number of vendors, Element Technica being one of them.
ALSO, ET was *very* responsive to my email inquiry. In my book good customer service is highly important and adds value to the products offered.
AND... way UNCOOL comment!

I like the EVF mount, but not the handle. I would be more interested in this product if the mount could be attached to existing hardware or a plate like ET's.
Of course, all that will really matter here is quality and price, price, price. Which by the way, I have seen no info on yet.
Makes me nervous.

I like the EVF mount, but not the handle.
The handle is growing on me. It's got a free cheese plate built into the top and a slim but adjustable battery attachment.

In my experience the SIM top handles are very solid and extremely comfortable to hold, even for long periods. Unfortunately that comfort comes from the fact that they are nicely rounded. If you are expecting to use the 'cheese plate' holes for underslinging the camera, I suspect the roundness of the handle will make that less stable that you might have hoped (although I haven't actually tried it).

Hey Crew;
The get used all the time......seen our handles in lo mode constantly. They usually hook up direct, but some have married a cheese to the handle when required. With over 100 cameras with handles like this, we have NEVER had a handle broken.
And with the strength of the RED camera body, I never expect to.
