Same here. Just download Pacifist, it will enable you to install anyways....

Or go to /library/Receipts/ and remove all previous REDAlert bundles. Then run the installer again.

I don't get it. Renders at least 3 times slower than before.... on my macbook pro.

Edit: Thought I was rendering a 2k clip. My mistake. Same render times...

I'm getting the same error reported here. The installer says I have a newer version of RedAlert already installed. I deleted the old one and even restarted.

did you delete the receipts?

did you delete the receipts?

I had the same problem until I deleted the old receipt and quit and reopened the installer. Thanks for the tip Anders.

Will it please possible to add the uncompressed 4:2:2 QT codec for redline?

The new version of RED ALERT! crashes as soon as I load an R3D!

Yes, deleting the receipt does the trick. Thanks guys!

The wrong one went up on the website. A new one will be up there soon.

Ivan, can you check if the previous version loads your R3D?

Look for it in v1.54.

Ahh, a zoom function in the main view would be soooo nice... maybe just 1:1, and fit to window:-)
Setting the sharpness and NR seems pretty much guesswork at the time.

You can zoom main view to 1:1 or whatever you want, go to help function for explanation.

RedAlert is crashing as soon as I try to render a Prores HQ QT out. Any thoughts?

Try deleting the prefs in system HD / library / application support/redalert.

Also try redline and see if that's ok.

Does it crash at any particular frame?

The current beta (1.5.4) is crashing whenever I try to open a 4K file. Works fine with 2K. No, I don't have QT 7.4 and yes, I tried trashing the prefs.

Any idea?

Uli

does somebody has a good tip for a terminal program? If I copy paste some commands into redline via standard terminal works only a short time good. Need a terminal software which is sending a command into the mac and waiting, then the next and so on. Direct copy paste is too fast....

any idea ?

for mac osx 10.5.2

thx

If you're doing a large number files, then it's best to paste the all into a text file (ie. commands.txt) and then do "source commands.txt" in the shell.

OK I kind of get the whole Redline conceptually but how exactly do I do a RedAlert! batch in this way? I get that I create the setting in RedAlert! and then copy the settings into a .txt file that the Terminal can now open. So where do I specify the .R3ds I'd like to process and where do the final QTs/DPXs end up?

If you can't already tell I'm new to this command line thing.

The R3D input filename and the output filename are set in the Render window before you copy the commandline.

Or... wait a few days and something better will come along.

Brent,

I am running with RED ALERT 1.5.3a When i try to make QT proxies using RED ALERT, the audio is not available. Is it a bug?

Deanan

None of the applications support audio yet.
Only the QT proxies from the camera do at this point.

Hi Deanan,
I found the culprit (but not the reason): It only happens with the 4 K r3d footage from John Beale ( http://www.bealecorner.org/red/test-080108/index.html ), so there must be something wrong with that. The r3D footage with the drag race works fine in 4K.

Regards,

Uli
