Along these lines: http://favicon.com/

I'm surprised RED hasn't made one yet, something like Jannard's avatar would work and look good.

bumping this topic, because as someone who constantly has over 100 tabs open in Firefox at any given moment (many of them REDuser.net threads!), this would be such an awesome and simple thing to add to the site.

Clearly I have some sort of disorder:

But all those "blank page" icons in the 2nd & 3rd row of tabs are REDUser.net pages. Looks really lonely among all the other cool kids in my tab-bar that have shiny favicon's :P

Wow, what type of Mac are you running and what version of Firefox? Both my laptops (an ibook g4 and a macbook pro intel core duo) have trouble keeping half that many tabs open on Firefox. The ibook slows down and on the macbook pro the fan starts whirring like crazy.

Make that top priority!!

I don't care about build 16.

Well, rather than demanding, let's create.

You can do it online here http://www.favicon.cc/

Or use photoshop or whatever programme you like.

Here's a quick one:http://abitofmagic.no/demo/favicon.ico. Jarred, if you want to use it, just rename it favicon.ico and put it into the root folder. That should do the trick.

Nope, top priority ought to be building camera #3971. Followed by achieving world-peace.

Selfish. You put world peace at second place. :angry2:

I wouldn't call world-peace selfish :clown2:

I'm on a Macbook Pro (C2D, 4 GB RAM) running Firefox 3 RC1. The funny thing is, that screenshot only has 34 tabs on it because I had just installed FF3 and created a new profile for it. My FF2 profile has over 100 tabs open in it. Ridiculous.

I had the same problems you do with massive slowdowns on my original 2006 Core Duo MBP. In fact, the biggest reason why I upgraded to the new Feb. 2008 C2D MBP was so I could put in 4 GB of RAM, and keep my obsessive-compulsive tab hoarding from turning my machine into a Commodore 64.

…it was supposed to be a joke, but apparently that was not clear enough.

Of course does world-peace come before #3971, if ever so slightly (joke!)

I'm joking myself, mate.

A bad choice of emoticons, I guess. :gun:

Looks like the favicon is now being used....... http://abitofmagic.no/demo/favicon.ico

Yep, the direct route - as so often - works best.
