I was waiting for an affordable, small (smaller than 7') 720p lcd for on camera native resolution monitoring......HVX/M2 combo...
That way I could shoot better images, earn more money and buy later a RED for that lcd to shoot gorgeous images!
No way IN signals other than RED for that lcd?

Proprietary "DVI based signal" so even if it could take another cameras image it would have to go through a component to HDMI adapter first.

what about straight from a hdmi port on a HDV camera? what would you need to do that?

sorry. i should be clearer. alot of new cameras have HDMI ports. which is also a DVI based signal. would there be any way of using this monitor with a HD camera with HDMI out?
thanks.

No it won't work in that application. Its an integrated to the camera electronics design, i.e specific to RED ONE.
