Seems someone is selling a new RED camcorder HD with Night Vision. Is that an option I didn't know about?

Wouldn't you just like to have one chance to physically grab one of these internet scammers by the neck and frackin' school 'em?
I know I would...

I have alerted ebay to this one and made them aware that there may soon to be a few scams involving RED and related accessories. Personal I hope they set up a sting for this MF and charge them with fraud (which is what it is).

Interesting- among the other items that person is selling is a JVC HD100 (also $3k), and a cabbage patch doll (!).
Seriously though, is anyone going to send $3k to someone who has sold 0 items on Ebay?

But does it have "wedge-in" technology? ;)

You guys are fools for not bidding! I got mine in already. I mean 3k vs 18k... I'd rather pay the 3,000.

I normally would never encourage such things...but special just for this guy, someone should create a new account and bid this sucker through the roof and make sure to win it, and then when this guy asks for payment, rip him a new one.

on an audio geek forum i read a detailed and often updated report of someone winning the bid of an obvious scammer and then continually telling him the money has been sent through western union and go pick up the cheque, coming up with all sorts of inventive ways to have the scammer visit his local western union office every day for weeks looking for money that will never arrive. quite clever actually.

NO NO NO
You guys are all wrong about this guy. I know for a fact that he reversed engineerd (GOD help me I use to know how to spel) the RED camera by using four sensors out of lipstick cameras. We are working togeather on this and are about to introduce our reversable PL/Nikon mount system. Stay tuned!

Okay, I just put in a bid. But you'll have to go higher than my $7000 max! We'll see how high we can go before ebay pulls it.

I'm not going to bid, because it does not include a soft case, cleaning kit, and some tapes.

But he did add that he has a license to sell this and will send it if needed. That's gotta be worth something.

Now that you have bid, why don't you ask them for the licence and offer to buy it outright?

I tried to bid more, but the ceiling is $14,999 without a PayPal or credit card verification. I'm not willing to go that far. But I see that you have. :bleh:

Anyone else seen the story where they sent the scammer a fake p-p-p Powerbook to make him pay the import tax. That one had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes.

LOL, I just saw that. I was hoping it wasn't a legit person, but now that they're up to $380k, I feel better knowing they couldn't possibly be. :)
Yeah, just a short jaunt down I-5! Though that's strange to think Seattleites are closer. We should have RUG (Red User Group) meetings every once in awhile for the two of you down there and the few of us up here. Maybe the Seattle crew can come too. We should all get together after Shawn gets his camera so can get our grimy little paws all over it.

Yeah, there're enough of us for sure for a decently sized RUG.
Well it was fun while it lasted. I wonder if they pulled his other scams.

Hey, somebody bidded on his JVC HD camcorder listing. Somebody's gotta inform Ebay. My sleeping pill is kicking in big time, so I'm dunzo. Somebody please don't let that bidder get scammed. Thanks and Nighty Nite.:calm:

I would also like to point out that bidding on eBay without the intention to actually procure the item at that price is in violation of their terms....
