....please correct my written english (in signature)

For THOSE who can't reach you guys over there.......

btw, elcurado, evin's there coming should be THEY'RE coming (sorry evin, but he's trying to learn how to write proper english)....there, they're, and their are all the same pronunction, but the various spellings indicate different meaning -

there - indicating a physical space, as in 'let's put the camera over there"
they're - indicating a group of individuals or items, as in "they're coming over to my house"
their - indicating possession or ownership by a group, as in "they're bringing their reds", their houses, their posts.

There, I took your signature seriously, and now I feel like an english teacher:huh:

How does the ET cheese plate differ from the red cheese plate. i know the red plate is bigger but i can't make up my mind. i only ever seem to come across cheese plates normally when dealing with steadicam operators but as this camera is so modular and i will be renting it out i want to cover most eventualities. what are people using them for.

The RED cheese plate and the ET cheese plate are two different products with two different purposes.

The RED cheese plate enables mounting the RED bottom plate to a tripod without using the shoulder pad.

The ET cheese plate bridges the gap between the two top mounts on the camera [either RED's top mounts or ET's top mounts]. It is for adding mounting points to the top of the camera.

Pictures are coming... but I think Evin is sleeping so probably not until tomorrow.

Trash talk like this from an Australian. Refresh my memory but isn't your country filled with all the Brit's criminals and rejects?

You did give us the cinema genius of Mel Gibson though. The realism he brings to dislocating and popping back in his shoulder, ahh the thespian craft at it's finest.

yes correct! we have the mistakes of the British to learn from ,the union jack is a constant reminder of that .
However, we also inherited their diction.
anyhow i think id take an impoverished Englishman over an impoverished Irishman any day
all jokes aside i do respect Americans

Mel Gibson's American. His dad took his boys to Australia to avoid the Vietnam draft.

i know the red cheese plate would not fit where the ET plate can but surely the ET plate can be used in the same way as the red.

my Cheeze plate in 1847 Rogers pattern. I eat nothing but the finest cheeze. I'm a bit confused the top of the camera has holes the upper front mount and sliding mount are the same height what keeps one from mounting a steadi plate directly on these two points? There are two holes 3/8 16? in the bottom of the body, I saw it mounted to a steadicam plate and flown around nab last year.... so why the cheeze...

No the thickness would not allow you to mount anything to it. It is meant for top mounting only.

It was fairly ridiculous... we were busy from open to close. Hell, we had more REDs in our booth than everybody else at the show combined.

Hey Ninjas...Congrats on what sounds like a good showing at the HD-Expo...

I agree...the ET accessories rock!

Since early December I've been beta testing multiple ET accessories, including the EVF mount with my RED EVF. For the past three weeks I've also been beta testing the ET low profile EVF mount that is shown in Evin's Post #21 of this thread. I really like it and I've been giving ET my feedback on it.

I've been using the ET ARRI base V plate (12") and ARRI bridge plates (15mm and 19mm) for over six months now - with excellent results. For field use I usually use a Miller Arrow 55 tripod, so I did a slight modification to the V plate to adapt it to the Arrow 55. The Arrow 55 uses a small snap in plate on the top of the tripod head. The ET V plate doesn't have screw holes that match the Arrow 55 plate. I got a heliocoil kit from a local hardware store ($25), then simply drilled, tapped, and inserted heliocoils in the ET V plate to match the Arrow 55 mini-plate 3/8" screw holes. The ET V plate then worked perfectly on the Arrow 55. Over the months I've loaded it up with an Optimo 24-290, Canon FD 150-600, RED 300, and many other packages and the system has worked flawlessly.

Low profile EVF mount ?!

Could we please have somoe more info. I can't tell the difference with regular EVF mount from the picture. Evin, Gibby, or anyone in the know, would you be so kind as to explain the differences.

Many thanks,
Damien

The two beta EVF mounts I’m testing for ET include:

A very low profile machined one-piece mount that goes on the front of the top mount or on top of the top mount. It brings the EVF as close as possible to the left side of the camera and can be used to get it low as well. It can be repositioned along the cheeseplate if desired. This is the mount Evin posted the photos of earlier in this thread.

The second is a tubular clamp that mounts to the front of the top mount and allows infinite side to side adjustment. It is a little bulkier than the first since it holds a 19mm rod sideways to the line of sight but the extra adjustability may be preferred. I'll post some photos when I get a chance.
