I don't want to hijack this thread:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4789&page=3

But I just thought it'd help users to have a visible post about our upcoming RED L.A. User Group meeting.

The 1st meeting will take place on Saturday, March 15th at 9:00. The location is Kappa Studios in Burbank. There will be very exciting demos by Mark Pedersen, Assimilate, ActionProducts and View Factor Studios.

For more information and to RSVP for the event please visit:

And check the original thread for the ongoing discussion!

I love it! You're so detail oriented. A month off? No big deal.

Or eleven months? That works within the laws of physics as we know them.

The crew at Kappa Studios were very gracious hosts. Each of them was excited to have the RED user event at their location in Burbank.

The gentleman on the right with the RED is Giuseppe. Perhaps someone can help me out with the names of the others. This was just one of about 5 Red set ups through the various rooms of Kappa Studios.

Pictured center in the red shirt is the man we can thank for putting the event together. Adobeone (Russ) was walking around making sure everyone felt welcome. Not sure of the exact names of all the others in this photo but they were happy to be there.

Give a shout out if you are one of the people in any of these photos who is not named.

The Action Cam team was in the house and letting people demo their gear. I thought King Kong was worthy of close-up steady shot.

Sitting at the registration table is Tammy the office manager at Kappa Studios. She did a great job and was warm and friendly all day long.

The women standing is someone I do not know. She was happy to have her photo taken but never I saw her again after this so do not know if she is Reduser or not.

Yet another Red set up. There were enough rigs for everyone to get plenty of hands on time and to be included in the highy informative conversations.

I just wanted to say thanks to adobeone, Kappa Studios and everyone else involved with yesterday's RED L.A. User Group gathering - a special thanks as well to all of the folks who brought their gear and put on such splendid dog and ponies for those of us not yet so fortunate.

It was exactly what I needed and confirmed my suspicions that the REDuser people are a solid, knowledgeable and extremely generous group when you have an opportunity to meet them in the flesh.

Thanks again to all those who made it possible. Truly great event.

Next time you come down to OC, bring a box or two of Portos or we won't let you into the building.

Great meetup! For clarification, the vest used with the Actioncam arm was a vest owned by steadicam veteran John Hankammer (thats him operating in all the actioncam pics). We wanted to see how well the Actioncam arm adapted to other vests and it did great. My own personal preference is Actioncam's backmounted vest. I will have a more indepth review on redmodz later this week. Also, for those interested, we are launching another Actioncam Groupbuy tonight on redmodz.

Anyways... it was awesome meeting some of the fellow redusers for the first time.

This was a great meeting and it was nice to see all the REDUSERS and gear in one place.

Thanks to Russ for the invitation and making sure we had what we needed.

Also a big thanks to Curt of ViewFactor for the use of the camera and a place to demo our EVF Mount.

We literally took a brief break from the production line to drop in show off a few of the things we are starting to ship. Now that we've had a chance to see a lot of the REDUSERS in one place, we promise to bring a more complete demonstration of our pro-cine mechanical support system the next time everyone meets.

It was also great to finally put faces to avatars and email addresses.
