A quick question - when shooting 2k (at 120fps say) will the depth of field be the same as 35mm, or will it be the same as 2/3 inch sensors?
I guess what I'm asking is, when you shoot 2k is the image being recorded by a small portion of the sensor, or the entire 35mm sensor?
Thanks for any info!

there are two different modes, windowed and scaled, at windowed a smaller portion at the sensorīs center is captured, which leads to a different dof-effect, like 16mm I believe and enables the camera to capture up to 120 fps, in scale-mode the image will be much like 35mm, the resolution is lower ( quarter res of 4K ) and since it basically captures 4K and scales down itīs max fps is 60 fps.

Will have to be in windowed mode and that only uses part of the sensor so it will be DOF for 2k not 4k s35mm. If my learning is correct?

Yes, 2K is windowed (only). 1080 & 720 are scaled (with a combination of windowing if needed).

Hi,
If your lenses for the smaller format resolved 2.5 times more, the DOF would be the same. If they don't there will be more.

So if I want to work with 2k Redcode Raw scaled - I should shoot 4k and then scale through Redcine ?

Yes, because there is no such thing as RAW 2K scaled. Shoot 4K and then resize / crop as needed in REDCINE. Or shoot 2K windowed with a S16 or 3/4" lens (or even an S35 lens if you don't mind the smaller field of view).

Does Redcine allow for 2k scaled upconverting to 4k or would it have to be done by my nle?
I'd atleast need to be able to shoot 2k 60fps at times and then upconvert, if the project went out at 4k ofcourse.
