Just a question... why would we want to buy the "RED" kit? Is RED on 19mm or 15mm? It seems like if you don't need the 19mm, it would be better to just buy the deluxe kit and then you get the flags...

I wonder how the build quality is going to compare to the VFS box...:)

All RED accessories are on 19mm. Thats why they give us the option.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it designed so you could screw the 15mm spacer off and screw the 19mm spacer off? If that was the case, I wish they would offer the deluxe kit with just the 19mm spacer instead of the 15mm one. I rather have the flags and only the 19mm spacer than both spacers and the case.

Can microMatteBox (Deluxe Bundle $695 option) be used with RED 15mm Adaptor.

From the info of today's announcement you are right. The Red bundle comes with both 15mm and 19mm swing away arm.

Which is great if you work/live in LA where there is pretty much only 15mm stuff for rent. For the rest of us (at least RED users) the 15mm is useless unless we are getting a FF unit that requires 15mm (does VFS's motor require 15mm? I was thinking it was 19mm...)

EDIT: Actually I'm a idiot! I just remembered that the VFS unit only currently connects to one side, so you don't have to worry about spacing!

But you do care about size, 19mm or 15mm, although if I recall correctly VFS's motors can attach to 15mm and 19mm.

Now about the different bundles, it seems odd the Red One bundle doesn't include the flags, at $995, considering they're including the case, it should include everything, or flags but no case, or a super deluxe bundle with flags, case and swing away arm of your choice (15mm or 19mm).

Cheers,
Damien

See, that's how I feel... The case is something that you don't have to have, but the flags can be pretty important. I am wondering if to get the magic $995 number, they dropped the flags and did the case because otherwise it would be to expensive. Of course, if you look at the first two bundles it seems that the flags only cost $100... Brian, can you clear any of this up for us?

Edit: After I posted this I saw THIS (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5758&page=20) posting!

I would assume so. I was able to use an Arri Mattebox that had lightweight 15mm rod support with my RED 15mm adapter. The Redrock microMatteBox looks standard, so I would assume it will work fine.
