Hey all...
I had been exchanging some emails with Lee of Custom Upholstery:
http://customupholsteryproducts.com/
They make some nice barneys and weather protectors. He's indicated that they need a camera "in shop" to design barneys and rain covers.
Since I'm East-Coast yo, I cannot help here. Anyone out west want to run over to Van Nuys for a few hours and get this project started? It's a hole in the accessory line for sure. I don't mind the clear garbage bag, but a real rain cover would be slick. And a heater barney would be nice too.
Cheers,
Harry

I have built a prototype cover for the red and it should be going into production very soon, hopefully next week if I'm lucky. With all the possible configurations, its VERY difficult to design something that can work with the EVF, LCD, different LCD positions, different battery positions, different battery brackets, different lenses, different matte boxes etc..... but I think it should work quite nicely.

Hey Chirs, we definitely need a rain cover. Are you making a list to keep track of interested buyers? I'm not so good about checking the forum all the time.

don't make it too close. if you have too high humidity the cam can get damaged. there are no filters between the outside and the fan, as the boards inside have nearly no protection.

It won't be too tight, it will be pretty baggy. And I'm pushing very hard to get the first 100 done. I just have two prototypes at the moment. There are only two little refinements I need to work out. The red is a difficult camera to build one for. So many configurations are possible, hence why it will be a little modular and a little baggy to allow for that.

Josh, I do have a small list of people who have expressed interest, but trust me, when it comes out, it won't be difficult to find and I'll let everyone know.

Tonight I'm also working on what I think will be a very good heating/cooling solution.

How is progress Chris?

If they are good quality and priced appropriately, we are interested in 2.

Do you have any photos of the prototypes?

It's funny you should ask. I was about to make a "raincover progress" thread. It's going really well. I'm finishing the final prototype this week. Hopefully I'll put it on a camera next week and post a bunch of pictures as well as pricing. I can't say the exact pricing yet, I'm still working it out. I think everyone will be happy with the price.

I also should be sending a cooling solution to a friend in the Arizona desert who is shooting right now. We'll see how well it works.....
