Does RED have Neutral Density filters or a way of electronically reducing the exposure for bright situations?

I hope it has something in this regard, or it will be real hard to use the camera simplistically.

Most likely it doesnt, because of how larger sensored cameras are constructed. You dont have moving elements between the sensor and the lens, because they'd be too big. Unlike little 1/3 and 1/4 inch chips, which only need a tiny piece of glass to work.

You will have to buy a mattebox and filters or at the very least some screw in ND filters.

I've got a few 82mm screw in ND's but I'll want the mattebox slip in for speed. I was just kinda hoping there might be some sort of negative gain or superslow ISO setting you could use.

REDCODE RAW should let you pull down the footage quite a lot in post, although if you're not recording RAW I suppose that's not helpful.

I also vote for some slow-high ISO/ASA variable speeds to help control light with a little more finesse.
