Hey Shawn,
I've lived and worked in Hawaii for large parts of each Winter since the mid-80's. My home office is in Pismo Beach, but as always I should be doing a lot o work in the Islands this Winter. I'm definitely interested in networking with an RED owners and users in Hawaii. I've directed and shot tons of non-hardlined EFP network television programs in Hawaii over the years - on all the accessible islands - about everything available to do in the air, on land, and in the water!
I also have available the very first custom lightweight aluminum surfzone housing for RED One, with complete throughputs for all camera and lens functions. I co-designed it with SPL WaterHousings and they fabricated it.
I will also be one of the very first persons to test out and buy the new Epic and Scarlet cameras when they're available - and what better testing ground than Hawaii. I'll be buying two Epic cameras and at least four Scarlet cameras, along with keeping at least one of my RED One cameras.
I currently own multiple RED One cameras, and a lot of accessories, lenses, etc. I shoot cine-style, hybrid cine/EFP style, and EFP style. Features (mobile 2nd unit field production), commercials, tourism/resort/hotel production, stock footage, and naturally television production will be my emphasis in Hawaii. In genres, adventure travel, alternative sports, wildlife, cultures, documentaries, and resort/hotel production have been my career-long specialties.
Over the past few years I've met or have talked on RED User most of the RED camera owners in Hawaii. My email address is on my Cut4 Media Group web site (link below). Let's network!
Mahalo...

Hit us up once you're here. As far as I know, all Hawai'i REDs re linked and willing to work together except for 2 cameras.
RED Hawai'i includes 4 cameras on Oahu, 1 on Maui and 1 on Big Island.
Maui is currently in Alaska and 3 cameras are busy on a local project with 1 double dipping on a doc.
Contact us before you arrive so we can meet up and be ready to help/support whatever you're up to.
Aloha -

Aloha Shawn,
Great to see that the Hawaii thread is rolling. Looks like there is a pretty good contingent between the islands. I look forward to getting back to maui after my stint in alaska. I'll shoot you a pm when I get back. Look forward to meeting the rest of the Red Hawaii group then.
Aloha,
Jason
