Once the RED camera is available, why would you want to use another camera...? :-)

I was listening to the DP of 24 talk about lag time as the reason he will stick with film gear for the time being. Is this really a big issue for others or is it just because 24 is a fast action shoot?
Excuse me for asking, but what are the advantages of using the EVF over using the LCD? I normally use the LCD, and the only time I use the EVF is in bright sunlight.
I would think the lag time would be even worse out HDMI... Anyone have any input on what overlays will be available where?
I thougth historams showed expouser levels. What does that have to do with focus? I'm confused.
If you watch the histogram on a fairly static shot as you focus, you can see which spikes are showing while staying in focus. Sometimes it helps because you can see the overlays more easily than you can the image. This "bad" habit will also work with Waveform monitors.
