I was just wondering how easy or should that be difficult or maybe even expensive is it to modify the mount on certain lenses.

I was looking at this lens earlier on eBay, it's a 50mm fast f0.95 canon (and apparently rare) and if you look at the images further down you can see the mount clearly. Now to me it looks like a fairly easy task to remove that, there appears to be 5 flat headed screws.

Can a Nikon F Mount be purchased that could be adapted to fit onto this and if so how tricky is the fitting of it, has anyone done it, can you explain the pro's and con's for us?

I'm not bidding on this particular lens by the way, which does look quite nice.

Cheers

the flange local depth of leica screw mount (The Canon) is much shorter than Nikon F. So you could do it, but you would be limited to macro shooting only.
The only other option is to have a custom Leica M Lens mount made for the Red it's self. I'm looking into this too BTW.

Sounds good Evin, you'll have to let us all know how you get on.
