I was wondering if there is any chance for either an internal or external "2.5 inch" rather than the smaller 1.8 inch SATA drives? The reason being is that A-DATA is soon coming out with a 128GB SSD which is a lot more than the 2.5 inch drives 32GB Media.

Any ideas?
Could a 3rd party be allowed to create an external RED SATA 2.5" drive?

HM...
Looks like I can replace the disk in my MacBookPro sometime this year -;)
A RAID of these beauties should make the nicest little P2-like bundle ever.
What you need:
A "smart" 4 sata bay with internal RAID 10 controller -;)
An esata connection
Hey presto - 256 GB of RAID 10 nicely backed up and ready to move.
Edit:
Whoopsy - I just found out this is a description of RED-RAM-2
Cheers!

As I understand it, RED RAM is essentially the RED DRIVE, but based on 2.5" FLASH units instead of magnetic hard drives. Right now, what's on the market is very expensive for the performance needed -- hence RED RAM's higher price (still half the price of P2 per GB). A-DATA, Transcend and Sandisk all showed 128GB 2.5" SATA and IDE units at the CES show in January. PQI will have a 64GB SATA 2.5" unit shipping in volume in July, those 128GB units should be available by the end of this year. Hopefully at this time next year RED RAM will come in 256GB capacity for not much more than the current price or hopefully less. That may be a bit optimistic. These 2.5" SATA FLASH drives are not going to be cheap when 128GB capacities come out. Probably double what current 32GB units sell for now.
