Just another mile stone for this administration....No value dollar...

I understand many manufactures are now in the process of raising the price of
Equipment not manufactured in the USA due to continued depreciation of the U.S dollar.

With that in mind I am actively seeking a tripod or two for my Red Ones.

Does anyone have 1st hand knowledge of the Cartoni C20?

C20S HEAD - 2 STAGE HEAVY DUTY ALUMINUM LEGS - GROUND SPREADER - 2 PAN BARS - HEAD CARRIES A PAYLOAD OF 61 POUNDS -

The specs indicate it will hold up to 61 pounds and it comes with a 5 year warranty. If I order soon I can avoid a price increase.

If we have others interested this could be a group buy candidate

Have you looked at the C40 head instead. How much are you looking to spent, I may know of a good used one with an ATA case. The used marked is pretty taped out at this time, but if you can find products you are looking for, you can get a better bang for your buck. A new Cartoni C40 is something around $7000. I have found a few used ones for $3000 - $4000 dollars. As long as the head was not abused, you should get many years of good use out of a 2nd hand head.
I also just found a set of used, but in good shape large 150mm Ronford legs for $750.
Just start browsing the internet, things pop up.

I own a c40 and like it, the biggest negative is that it's very heavy.

I have used a C20 for almost 10 years. Very good head. 7 steps of counterbalance, very solid very smooth. I have used it with a BL Evolution (primes),Varicam, SR, etc, long lenses, it's a good head. If you can get it in mitchell mount I would. The head can handle more weight than the 100mm ball can, and under heavy loads it sometimes slips.

Cheers,

Nick
