I built a heating/cooling solution to mount to the red body and I wanted to get some opinions on heating and cooling the camera. It can already operate to very cold temps and very hot temps (116F). After building it I put some large air activated sleeping bag warmers in it and also tried some instant ice packs.
I was actually surprised at how little heat/cold these things put out. The package said 32F for the ice packs and 140F for the heat packs. But they just didn't feel that hot or cold. I'm wondering if putting 6-10 of these around the camera would even do anything. Or is there a more powerful solution on either end.
The instant ice packs also only last 20 minutes. You could also use gel packs from the freezer, but I doubt they'd last much longer. The heat packs do have the ability to last up to 24 hours so that's nice.
For the owners out there, would you use heating or cooling more often?
