Not sure where the issue(s) is/are.

1. Shot on Build 13 in 4K, 2/1, 23.98fps with a boom mic. Audio played back in a qt proxy but not in FCP after the 30 sec clip was put into prores422 at 1080P.

2. Also, a second clip about 60 sec (shot on Build 13 in 4K, 2/1, 23.98fps) - no sound this time. After the clip was put into prores422 at 1080P and played back in FCP the clip would play at regular speed and then the image would stop after 20 sec (yet the clock would continue to run to the full one minute). So, only 20 sec of the 60 sec clip made it yet it shows as a 60 sec clip...

What do I need to do?

Thanks,
Joffy

1. Redcine (and Redalert) don't support sound at the moment, so the only way to save that audio is to take it from the QT Proxy and resync in FCP. Be careful, if you recreate that proxy in RedAlert you'll lose access to its audio. It's still there in the .R3D, but we currently cant' get at it until Red updates Cine/Alert.

2. The frozen frame issue has been talked about at length before, check out the workflow forum for some possible solutions. First things first, make sure you have the most updated version of RedCine, as that seems to have solved the problem for me (I've been reliably rendering 200,000+ frames at a time in Redcine lately with no issues).

Thanks!

I will try to sync the audio and see how that works. Does sound tricky though.

As for the freezing, I am using the latest version of Redcine. Maybe it's the Macbook pro - a dual core 2.4, with 4 gigs of ram, 17" HD ...

I will also scan for the freezing notes in the workflow section.

Much appreciated.

I ran into the same issue with freezing. I switched to Red Alert and it works great. 4K 2:1 in, 1920x1080 Prores HQ out. Looks amazing.

I have yet to get an amazing picture our of Red Cine... Am I missing a step? Red Cine desperately needs a manual.
