Ok guys, call me a noob.
I've been working with REDAlert since the first beta release and I find the learning curve simple, but what am I doing wrong.
I'm exposing my footage perfectly fine, we play it back through HDMI onto an LCD and it looks great, I bring it into REDAlert and it's noisy as hell. And this is all at ISO 320. What am I doing wrong?
Even exporting somethings out of REDCINE look terrible, doing a quick ProRes export...anybody know what's happening?

What settings are you using?

I shot 2k 2:1, ISO 320, 1/200th shutter, 120fps, RED 300mm and 18-50 zoom. I reset all the levels in redalert and still am getting noise. It may be a setting in camera now that I think about it, because when I bring it into REDAlert, there's a slight curve already showing....but with the amount of noise I'm getting it just doesn't make any sense.
Denoise was on maximu, debayer on leading lady, OLPF Medium, on REC709.

Deanan, I can seem to dial the ISO back in REDAlert and of course it reduces the grain substantially, but I'll still have to bring the exposure up either way as it is too dark.

I am having a similar issue with Red Cine. Everything I export (ProRes) looks dark, and noisy. Exports from Red Alert look amazing, and clean.
I am doing something wrong, but I cannot figure out what the problem is.
Some proper documentation for Red Cine would be nice.

I think your issue might be ProRes related as opposed to a RED footage issue. I've had multiple problems with that codec on footage acquired from several different sources. The contrast is extreme when compared to other more standard and time tested lossless codecs.

Just wanted to share I had the same issues with prores output from Red Cine and it looks nicer coming out of redalert
