David and Rob,

It wil lbe a few more weeks before I can swing the upgrade to CS-6, please forgive the following suggestions if they've already been addressed.

I'd like to start to use ChromaDuMonde charts on set, but looking at the post workflow options there does not seem to be a good method for getting vectorscope feedback while setting up the Source Settings.

One method would be to bounce in and out of the source settings window while referencing the editing window... which would get old quick. Another would be to connect an external vectorscope to a RedRocket card and use RedCine-X to save RMD files. Not optimum but more do-able.

Two features that would greatly help would be:
*Main: A radio button toggle on the source settings window that would flip between the current RGB parage and a vectorscope.
*Secondary: Activating the Monitor Out on the Red Rocket while the Source Setting panel is active (dependent on the Red APIs I'm sure...).

Using the R3D's source settings to normalize the images just makes too much sense to me. I hope you guys can provide some sort of software solution in this area.

Regards,

Bob

Basically, i absolutely love my canon and zeiss primes but need to find a rocking wide lens for the scarlet

I hear great things about the Sigma 14mm 2.8?
Would love the Zeiss ZE 15mm 2.8, I think Zeiss lenses look so beautiful but I'm a bit strapped for cash

Should i get a Sigma 14mm 2.8 or save towards the Zeiss 15mm 2.8?

Anyone used both?
comparisons?

Has anyone run into this issue when shooting cars with LED tail lights at night?

LED tail lights typically run full on/full off duty cycles rather than a constant level.
Brake lights may be 100% on 0% off, but running lights might be more along the lines of 50% on, 50% off at whatever frequency is being fed to them.

The question is, has anybody had issues with flickering with these tail lights?
I would imaging that higher frame rates would resolve more flagrant flicker.

Hi guys just a quick workflow question.
Want to edit Scarlet footage in FCP and grade in Color.
Workflow is:
1.Import R3D's in RCX
2.Export to QT proxies for edit in FCP.
3.Import proxies into FCP and lock edit.
4.Export XML from FCP and import back into RCX to relink 4K footage.
5.Export QT Wrapper of Timeline back into FCP.
6.Send sequence To Color for grade.
7.Relink original R3D's in Color timeline and finish grade.

Since i relinked the original R3D's in Color,my Resolution Preset is set to 4k in the Project settings tab.
I want to export to 2k using Pro Res HQ for final output but if i leave the Resolution preset as it is it will output a 4k QT file which i dont want.
If i do change the resolution preset to 1080p does that mean i am grading in that color space and not the 16bit RAW file-or am i still grading in the RAW color space since i'm using the QT wrapper from the original file sent from FCP?

Any help appreciated....

Cheers.
