Hello RED Users,

As you probably know, Ultra High Definition products are coming to consumers at a steadily increasing rate. In fact, Sony just launched a TV, print, and online marketing campaign this week for their new 4K Ultra HDTV.

Many scoff at 4K and 8K TV's, claiming that there is not nearly enough Ultra HD content for consumers to view. There is certainly some truth to this, but I believe that it is simply a matter of time and wherewithal before great 4K content becomes available. RED Users are clearly a source of such content.

I would like to invite those filmmakers who are interested in showcasing their 4K and 8K content to UltraHDTV.net, a site that I've run for the past 3 years. The site is ranked quite high on Google and other search engines for various Ultra HD keywords, and receives a respectable amount of targeted traffic. I've written over 70 articles about the subject, and receive plenty of questions via email asking about filmmakers and Ultra HD content.

If you are interested in having your Ultra HD content written about, previewed, or even digitally distributed to interested viewers, please contact me via private message or andrew@ultrahdtv.net. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Andrew Michael
PS - If I've posted this in the wrong section, I apologize. Please move it to the appropriate area.

Hello everyone,

I am not sure where to post this. Moderators, please feel free to move to a more suitable sub-forum.

I have a 17-50 red zoom. On a flight, the screw that connects to the zoom ring became loose. I can see the loose screw, I just cannont reach it to tighten it.

I would love to send it to red. However, I live in Portugal and dealing with customs on both ends of the journey is a nightmare. Also, the lens is not broken, scratched or anything. it s just a loose screw.

Has anyone ever taken a 17-50 apart? I would rally appreciate some directions. If this were a cooke or a zeiss, it would be easier, people at rental houses know them inside out. But this being basically a red cinemod, I have some pause taking it apart without any direction.

Thanks

So we plan to purchase some lenses from someone. It is a lot of money, and since i am purchasing from an individual and not a store i want to verify that the lenses are legitimate. The seller told me to call zeiss for them to check the serial numbers. However zeiss informed me they only could account for current model lenses not the old school zeiss lenses. Is there anywhere i can go to check the numbers on these lenses?

With a client login, all my photo shoots organised in galleries and a lightbox system. I found this plugin for wordpress: http://graphpaperpress.com/plugins/sell-media/ but my wordpress knowledge is very limited.
are there any wordpress wizards here looking for some paid work ? if so, please contact me asap with your rates.

Asking for advice, or any thoughts:

I have a short clip that I want to put in my demo reel where the actor has a gash on his face. Not totally huge, but the make up is stellar, and using a 100mm Leica APO Macro, it is pretty sharp. There is a lot of dynamic tension in this clip, and it fits perfectly with the clip preceding it in my reel... I want to keep it in, but not sure if this would be a turn off for certain prospective clients?

Any opinions? Am I over thinking this?

Thanks!

Building anything on 'Green Belt' land in the UK is always a contentious issue and i can see why the vote was so close. Still, it's not good for Pinewood or UK film as a whole. I think back to RED when Jim bought prime real estate in Las Vegas, but nothing happened and it's now about Red Studios Hollywood. It's not easy to start somewhere new and Pinewood need to expand somewhere.....
