It's pretty obvious that Jim is sending us the necessary message of: "stop trying to figure out what we are doing simpletons". The vari-focus thing is just a funny way of him letting us know that everything technical is well in hand. I think it's awesome that he is stepping in to put a lid on the ridiculous HYPE we are creating in these forums. Jim will deliver the goods that will change the industry forever. Canon will look like fools and really should fold their hand right now! They will go the way of Arri - bitch slapped and hurting.

My bet: Jim will announce that Scarlet is ready to deliver in massive quantity November 4th. That would shut up the doubters and complainers about RED backorders etc for good. Let's get this fight started!
