Just wondering... can anyone shed any light on when or if we will ever see more Nikon lenses supported on the Epic please...
QUOTE=Johnny Friday;1210634]+++: I bought Red's Nikon mount specifically for using electronic feedback of focus....yet NONE of my commonly used Nikon lenses work to date.....Yet the Canons seem to...
I have an older Tokina 11- 16 (2 - 3 years old) which does not work. It works when you mount it but does not give accurate nor useable control as soon as you change anything on the lens. I could not...
I have also had several issues with 4.0.9 - the first time I've had any issues with a beta build.
Auto-focus not working correctly... tries to focus but ends up with a very soft image (using the...
Oh and I forgot to mention you will need the Red cable that is Lemo to BNC - unless you feel handy with wiring those miniscule Lemo plugs - I got the cable from RED a lot less hassle.

I made one as per the diagram in the Epic manual. Then it's down to the GPIO settings in the camera. It is simple to make (I am not an expert by any means). Or you could just go for the items listed...
Yes I have made a prototype cable - now that I have it working I will go for the finished thing.. .thanks for the suggestions

Hi Björn... thanks for that suggestion... I originally had been thinking that it should be possible with the Redmote but it does mean that one is tied to its battery charge life, so a wired solution...
hi paul.. thanks for the quick reply... what you suggest makes sense.
What I want to do is have an external button to press so that I do not have to touch the camera - like a single frame cable...
Anyone work out what the settings should be for the GPI port when using an external trigger?
I made a manual trigger to deliver the required voltage and I set the recording mode to external frame...
i wish I had the knowledge to offer something with this... sadly ....
I do hope something comes of it. it seems like a great use of the raspberry and has the potential to provide great remote...
a frame is a frame ...
I think the calculation in the sticky about record times shows 0.66Gb per min at 7:1 compression 2K and 24fps. that works out at 1440 frames = 0.66Gb
300 frames = 0.1375 Gb...
can I add a +1 for the Tokina 11- 16 and the Nikon 105 to be added to the list soon.. please
It's great that the mount is available at last, thanks everyone involved. I'm looking forward to meeting...

can I place an order for the nikon mount please?
so thankful that it is coming soon. While I understand those people who keep advocating using a 5D, I will keep saying I don't want to carry another camera and other stuff around. A 5D may be great...
been away from the forum for a few days... I think you have been lucky in the past if you have not had your carry on weighed.. I have had mine weighed most times in the last 4 years or so... and it...
which airline lets you carry the weight of all that as hand luggage? I've had so many problems with less than that...
I will do this as soon as I can - got a very hectic few days ahead but I should be able to make time for it at some point.

thanks I will try this. If it works it would suggest that presets created in earlier version do not work and they must effectively be re-saved in v 15.
Anyway I will give it a go and report back.

I should add that the consensus seems to be that long exposures are for "astro work".. maybe 30 sec exposures are but there are situations where say a 2 or 3 sec exposure would be good and certainly...
Sadly you cannot do that at the moment I tried it. You get a bunch of R3D files - not a clip. So stop motion animation - something a movie camera might be reasonably expected to do is also not...
well maybe we all misunderstood but there are quite a few people who are under the impression that they would be able to shoot time lapse with longer exposures and longer intervals. I have the...
+1 please
