LOL! Not the magic bullet you were hoping for, huh? (wouldn't elevated blacks very much help this alleged Komodo low-end saturation issue?)
It's their default normalization LUTs that come loaded...
It's all on their DXL page.
Of the samples they include in the pack (all Monstro, no Dragon VV) three are LLO OLPF and only one is PX Pro.
The official direct-from-panavision LUTs only work properly when bypassing IPP2 transforms (tone map/highlight roll-off), and I was told they did it precisely to remove potential confusion...
Has anyone tried the v18 with a 10.4.x version on FCPX? Is it just as bug-filled?
If it doesn't happen in the r3d/when bypassing IPP2, then it's a somewhat non-issue (IMO). It should also be recoverable after transform by using REDs IPP2 conversion LUTs (instead of native IPP2)...
Can you post a .r3d frame? It's hard to tell what can/can't be recovered from a normalized image. Also it's hard to tell how buried in the noise floor it is? Is it the last/lowest stop that would...
'It's the cinematographer/cinematography that matters' is not the flex you guys think it is... Sure, it's 100% true. But it's equally true of every camera, including ones that are technically...
EDIT: Never mind, reboot fixed it.
Weird. I would re-firmware and/or reset the camera to default and try again. Like I'm thinking somewhere along the way the streams got cross... It's very weird that Resolve is correct and the...

But totally dependent on OLPF. Like LLO at 1600, is as clean as ISO400 of STH on Epic Dragon (especially after downscale to 4k). As it pertains to the OP's 'ISO relevance', this is a prime example...
CONT'D (for some reason, I'm getting an error msg when I try to post this all in the same post):
What else? OH, Resolve defaults to 320 likely as a hold over from Mysterium, which was safely...
This is one of those things that, on paper, seems like it should work fine, but in practice falls apart/isn't realistic. Ironically, RED's are weaker at this than others because their over/under is...
That's awesome! Please post a few .r3d/.ari frames (or super short clips).
OH MAN! Is that are those MF Focal Reducers on the Dragon and Alexa Mini? Ha!
Wonder what’s preventing DJI from pulling the Lidar/Motor off of the RS2 and selling it as a stand-alone unit for ~$250... I mean it’s as good as an Phase Detect AF (better?) and would work with...
Helium, Dragon, LF! That'd be totally rad! I'm still rocking Epic-Dragon, so it'd be nice to see how far/close they are. Granted, DSMC1 is locked to ISOCal1, which means it'll be a stop under at...
Thanks for posting this Laszlo!
A couple questions; were you using ISOCal2 on the Helium? That's supposed to get "ISO800" to actually be a metered 800, whereas ISOCal1 is ~1 stop lower than that. ...
How'd it go?
If you haven't done it yet, you could ask Björn directly... or get an updated link to the video.
I like the sound of that. If there's a 4400mAH one, that's double... aka potentially ~1.5hours per!
EDIT: The product pages says ~1hour recording at 24p with monitor at 50% brightness (which I...
I would've preferred an RF mount *without* NDs, to be honest. Then have an ND-EF mount for daylight and a focal reducer mount for low-light (though dual ISO makes that less necessary). That said,...
Yeah we do. He mentioned it in his first sentence!
Blackmagic Camera Update - July 2020 Live Stream
Starts at 1pm EST/10am PST for North America! I'll update the top with any camera info.
Björn has! I think he fit a whole REDlink module inside the +1!
EDIT: Found it! (though it looks like the Vimeo link is busted.)...
Thanks Frank! Are they to be applied to 709? Log? Any tips/tricks to make it most accurate and/or look best?
