It's quite subjective in fact. Inches and feet don't mean anything to me. Meters, kilograms, seconds, etc... are way more meaningful :-)

Yes, the same thing goes for the lenses in the Anglo-Saxon world : focal lengths in mm and distant scales in feet... I guess it's like religion, you can't really argue with it :-)

Can anyone tell me please : when one shoots at 5K with the upgraded Dragon-X 6K if the picture looks exactly the same (crop factor, dynamic range) as the Scarlet-W at 5K ?

    Thank you !

    1. When shooting 5k with the new upcoming 6K Dragon-X, will the picture be the same (color wise and sensor size) as the Scarlet-W at 5K ?

We've been using the Canon 16-35mm L III and we find it way above the Sigma 18-35 which had an awful CA... It's full frame, has almost no CA and a pleasing look. But it's subjective ;-)

Apparently, Dragon-X could become 6K with some efforts according to Jarred, so I guess no one will ever want to upgrade to Dragon-X 5K if 6K exists finally. It would be a good way to keep existing...

When you think of what Aaton used to be... Now they're making handgrips for other camera manufacturers... it's kinda sad indeed, but it must be me, as a French. Their audio gear apart, of course.

Baptiste, are they still for sale ? Which format do they precisely cover ? Because according to the Red specs "Red Centric" isn't very precise to me ;-)

Competition is always a good thing for the customer. The big advantage all these major manufacturers have is the support, at least here in Europe. Canon support really rocks here.

It's probably a calibration issue. Check the scaler, it should be able to feed a proper signal to the projector with a Rec709 input.

    Ashley,

You should make a DCP, this is is only correct and reliable way to screen a movie. It's a pity to put some many efforts in a movie, with a Red camera, and screen it another way.
