I just emailed this to the Chair of the Film/Video Department at my alma mater. Unfortunately I think they've already committed to a bunch of FS700s for their next camera purchase, but maybe in the...
Adobe mentioned that the next Premiere will have support for multiple GPUs, maybe this will fix the issue - in the long run, of course. For the short-term - are you needing to reboot when you swap...
This, and also technically the term for the standard is UHD now, not 4K. Though I'm sure "4K" will probably still be thrown around a bit.
I think one reason is that scaling becomes easier to/from 1080p.
EDIT: Brandon beat me to it.
There's two ways to use HDRx in Resolve. First is just using the blend slider in the RAW settings (like in REDCINE). The more involved way is to right-click the node graph of an HDRx clip, and choose...
Tell me about it. My 42" TV is about 4-5ft away from me, depending on where/how I'm sitting. I'd love to have a 50-55" 4K TV (not that I'll be able to afford one for another couple years).
From what I saw streamed today, they have a setup at the booth with the mount. The camera is pointed at a bunch of rolling-shutter-aggrivating objects, including a strobe. Obviously I couldn't see...
So I found this buried on the Compare page on BMD's website: "Separate debayer and sizing options play vs. stop for low GPU powered systems"
So this sounds like Premiere's paused vs play...
Also, obligatory question/clarification - after all of the upgrades are done, will there be a Scarlet Dragon offered in the Red Store to buy straight-off?
Wow, did not expect option two. I think it's hard to argue with either choice, though.
I was more thinking about Epic and RedRay. Remember the 2009 release date? Then 2010? How long Stage 2 owners had deposits down? I'm not meaning to bash Red - just thinking that the less-than-a-year...
That would seem to be the implication.
It's recording from the SDI, so I'm gonna say probably not.
Ah, I see. That would make much more sense.
Because Red has always delivered on time?
Yeah. I'd kill for an OLPF. Mosaic is supposed to be working on one for the current camera. Here's hoping...
I'm pretty sure it's the same as the current BMC. Built-in as in not needing an external recorder - not that it's using internal storage.
As one of those owners (took delivery in January), yeah this took the wind out of me a bit. Beyond that, I don't know that these new models will necessarily be shipping that soon. They apparently...
Note they don't say the ProRes is 4K. Just that it's there. Could be 1080p (though I'd love it if it were 4K, would make a viable alternative to the hugely-data-hungry Cinema DNG).
I certainly wasn't expecting a new camera offering while BMD still is having trouble shipping their first camera, and haven't even begun shipping the MFT model yet.

Apparently Pocket camera is S16, HD. 4K camera is S35.
Thanks Peter - I've read some good things about them. The ebay seller I bought from doesn't accept returns, so QLM may be the best way for me to salvage the situation.
Yeah, my worry is that the selenium cell is basically dead. Sekonic's generalized repair form gave estimates on the L-398 as Minor Repair: $85, Major Repair: $125. I'm not sure which category cell...
This is what had me puzzled. Everything on the unit, even the lanyard and the case, look pristine. Though I did make one error - on second look, it's not a L-398M, but the slightly older L-398 -...
Unfortunately, even at the maximum it would let me adjust it to, the meter is still reading at an f/2.8 where my gray card gives f/8. Note also if I take off the dome, and cover the port with duve, I...
