Thanks Paul.
Maybe I got a tiny bit of hope back.
I will try Shake to see if I can do some kind of cloning.
Does anyone have a node for this already?

This is what it looks like...
I am on build 17, the latest non beta.
It looks like a negative scratch and is totally vertical. Its position is 8% in from left. Two pixels wide bright. The sorrounding pixels left and right of the bright ones are slightly darker. I did...
I'll try that.
Do you think it is just one single frame that is corrupt?
Thanks
If someone from the Red-team has any useful info in this matter it would be appreciated. I have sent a message to support but no yet recieved any answer. Maybe they are busy...
I cannot even copy the corrupt file... or do you mean the whole drive?
Since I have had no problems up to now I dared to record a very long sync without stopping the camera. The shoot made 15 R3D-files in a row on a drive. When trying to backup the drive to a disk image...
Well, the result is not the same and I don't think you always can rely on post to fix the proper softening. I think we are heading the wrong way if we don't take optimal responsibility at the set. It...
This is indeed an interesting thread. My personal view is that one of the most important tasks for a DOP is to be creative. The DOF is one of the tools to use. RED has made this tool more powerful.
I stand corrected. Thanks för the serious enlightenment.
By the way...
Citizen Cane was shot with special made split field lenses that could have focus at two distances simultaneously.
That is what I learned at film school. Nothing to do with big DOF.
I have the same problem on my Mac Pro. The strange thing is, when I open the same files in my MacBook Pro they work fine in FCP.
Our EVF's just came back from this upgrade.
I have only tested one of them.
At -4°C (25°F) the solarization was still there, maybe less, but still present.
I think we have to get some kind of...
What was the temperature on the set?
RED doesn't recommend using the VF below 0°C.
If you are copying the content of a RED-drive to a mac formatted backup drive you need to make a disk image. It is not enough just to drag it . This is my new experience and is also what is...
I also experience the posterizing at temperatures from +5°C and down. It seems as if the effect is more in the unfocused areas. If it is a professional VF it should work fine at -10°C. That's my...
They will bring it back for repair.
The guy at RED-support is quick and nice to deal with.
Congrats priitp and thanks. Please update this thread with the results from the trip to repairs.
To be sure I updated both cameras to firmware 17. After being outside (-4°C) for a couple of hours I...
Thanks Priit
What is the best way to contact them in this matter?
Tried again. Same result; stripes. Can't shoot.
There must be a fix for this.
I am having the same kind of problems here in Sweden. Shooting outdoors -6° C. After a while I got the ROCKETIO_FAULT in viewfinder. After reboot the stripes of death in VF. Went home and had the...
Maybe Rbs-ent knows this and is looking for the mini35 effect, which can be described as a kind of special atmospheric grainy look. If this is the case I suggest working with AE or Shake instead in...
Shit pommes frites.
