That's great news! I can't wait to see people's tests.
Happy birthday! I hope you have a great one! Is your birthday party being recorded on a prototype Scarlet?
Could you imagine trying to get it smaller than a scaled RAW, and making it some cheap 4:1:1 video?
If the RED RAY footage was impressive at 700:1, could it also be a viable option to have Scarlet or EPIC shooting at such a high compression ratio in in RAW? You could have something like 233:1 at 4K...
I hope you have good one! If she can support you in all your doings, she must be pretty amazing.
Do I have to go scouring the "REDUSER NAB 2009 - The Official Thread" thread or what? Because all I hear is a bunch of talk of an amazing RED RAY demonstration all over the forum with no more...
What were the features he needed?
Looks small.
I just saw it, and I thought it looked great. I noticed a little bit of flickering on the iMac screens in the scene where John was first matching the numbers to events. Was that 1/48th of a second...
Nobody knows. I doubt even RED knows... So until they get far enough into development to have the confidence to put a definite date on it, it's anyone's guess. You'll just have to watch the Recon...
I really like that EVF. What resolution is it?
Yeah, congratulations. It's a clear choice to pick RED.
It'd be great to assemble a timeline. I get "out" every few weeks too.
Scarlet got announced, then changed, then forgotten, then changed...
Maybe so that they can plan on buying them instead of the competition at the same price.
Brent's got a good explination.
You might need to be more specific.
Thank you for remaining a private company, and selling your public one.
Almost any normal lens will be a fisheye with this camera!
Not to mention a whole lot quicker.
Oh, absolutley. And you could have a natrual 2.35:1 6K and all. It would open a lot of possibilities for people with more average computers if it could record lower resolutions too.
I just realized. It would be the highest resolution sensor ever.
Yeah, the computers... Where'd you get 500MB/s? [edit: REDCODE 500. Okay.] That's a lot. 1.7TB per hour!
Could you imagine the focal length you'd need to get a wide angle? Lenses are TBA.
P.S...
The Epic 617 is 28K? Twenty-eight thousand? What?! 261mp?!
Jim was right, it really is a "scam"!
Spring 2010. That's not too long for 28K. It's only 25fps max, but there's plenty of time for...
Up for me.
I don't think it's a camera, it's just RED saying, "We're getting rid of the alphabet, it's going out the back exit, all we have to do is press the red button."
