Hi Arnold, I've tried it both ways and the mirror is much better than the foil. Mirror in the bottom of the storage bin, bounce the light, shake the bin and you'll get some nice caustic light effect.

Looks like Martin already hit all of the points I was considering, but I did want to congratulate you Phil for coming up with a superb, proactive idea for the betterment of the community.
While posting from set is not optimal, respectfully asking questions about Red cameras from fellow users (and having the question nearly instantly answered from the Red team) is much more in keeping...
Not sure about the Red One, but on our Epic, we had to modify the Rode (by snipping the white wire - there's a little tutorial here on RedUser on the best way to do it) Now it works, providing a...
Good point, Mike. The key here is the debayering technology. As cool as the RedRocket is, for a PCI card, it is ancient - and you can build an entire 16 core PC for the same price. There have been...
Sooo, somehow fewer people are going to buy Epics because they are cheaper? And the people who do buy them are hobbyists or fools? Yeah, I've got much better things to do than read this inanity....
Red has always looked to the future, and you don't need a crystal ball to recognize that camera technology isn't standing still. It's pretty obvious that the next cycle of releases are going to flood...
If Apple announced that they were going to significantly reduce the price of Mac Pros on October 31st, I wonder how much complaining we'd hear?
Yes, thanks Louis, Matt, Paul and Joseph. Firing you an email now Charlie. Cheers!
Thanks, guys. Did another round of attempts to boot in various configurations, but still no joy. Gonna have to get another camera by the looks of it.
Rather mild, 17 degrees Celsius , variable cloud, not too humid. I've shot in pretty extreme conditions, freezing cold, blistering hot, humid, 20 miles out to sea, in underwater housings, the epics...
Haven't seen the green light since it went down, just red to indicate power and amber when we try holding down the power button for various test intervals between 10 seconds and two minutes . No...
Yes, that was one of the first things that we did. I've rented this camera several times and it's been absolutely bulletproof. We're in a relatively isolated location, so getting another camera...
Hi there,
On a shoot today, after a few takes on an establishing dolly, the Epic suddenly powered down and wouldn't boot back up. Immediately began trouble shooting, held the power button for 15...
Water from a garden sprayer isn't going to register, even if you really light it up. While you are at Home Depot, pick one of their gas powered sump pumps and hook up the discharge hose to a...
A lot of the system choke could be solved with a GPU based debayering solution. Personally, shooting clean at 100 ISO is at least as important as shooting at 1600. I think Rob's heart is in the right...
Sorry to hear it, Norbert. If RedUndead doesn't work, I've used File Scavenger 3.2 with good results (under slightly different circumstances) Might be worth a shot on your short timeframe.
Hi there,
We're looking to rent a Scarlet Brain with Side SSD to use as a B Cam for a large crowd scene we're shooting in the third week of April. We have all of the lens mounts, media and...
Thanks!
Hi Marcos,
Speaking from personal experience, I would advise NOT to purchase the GTX 590. I made this mistake, only to discover Premiere and many other programs are not set up for SLI, which, even...
Hi there,
We have also had noticable audio playback sync issues, but only on PC. I've tried RXC Pro versions 4 thru 7 on a six core i7 with 24GB DDR3 RAM, 3GB GTX 580, OCZ Vertex SSD. Shooting 24...
My System:
i7 970 ( Over Clocked )
Asus Rampage III Extreme MoBo
Corsair watercooler
24 GB Dominator DDR 3
Win 7 Pro
OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
5x2TB WD Blacks in Raid 0
USB 3 Drive Dock for Backup
There you go. Jarred weighed in while I was writing. Sounds as fair as it gets.
"I would say max out on the bandwidth even more and get two Quadro cards instead. "
Unfortunately, Premiere is not yet multi-GPU aware, so I'm not sure how more than one Quadro is going to help...
I must be doing something seriously wrong, as I recently built this:
Intel Core i7 970 6 Core Processor 3.2GHZ (Overclocked to 3.8GHZ) 12MB Cache 4.8GT/S
ASUS Rampage III Extreme E-ATX DDR3...
