I've found that some HDMI TV's don't like the 1080p setting from my Scarlet. On those monitors it works well with the 720p setting.

I've used all the i1 Display and Munki products from Xrite on the iMac and the best of them all is the i1Display Pro that I linked to above.

Calibrating your imac by eye is very difficult to do. Fortunately its very easy and inexpensive if you were to pick up an X-Rite i1 Display Pro. They sell for about $250 dollars.

I did my recent tungsten shoot on my Scarlet with a 1/4 CTB filter from schneider, rated the camera at ISO 320, kept a VERY close eye on the highlights and used as much fill as possible to avoid...
