- you cannot take these batteries on airplanes if they are more than 100kWh which is not so good when you get that tropical paradise shoot...
Myself I use the PagLinks, very cool that...
USB 3 is not the bottleneck here. It can handle about 500MB/sec while thunderbolt is double. No normal ssd drives can write faster than the usb3 standard. Only if you use something like the Revo...
These are the speeds I have measured
RED 512GB SSD 195mb/sec read write
RED 128GB SSD read 177 - write 170
Normal spinning 7200 harddrives if they are new and big will normally be around...
Your limiting factore will be the Red SSD. My harddrive read about 200MB/sec which your external SSD drives will have no problems keeping up with. So upgrading the external drives will not help I'm...
Ouch
I have a feature request for Redcine
It would be great if it would be easier to trim your red files easier to save data. I film so much landscape and frankly get a lot of shots that are not...
Hi Dio Zafi.
I have 2 Canon 5D Mark IIIl The moire is not a problem with the standard 5d, however I can see it in the hacked versions with raw footage. There it's back again.

I completely agree. In my experience it's very rare that the tvs are even remotly setup correctly.
The last sales person I talked to told me that it was better to watch DVD footage at 52" plasma...
I looked at a bunch of the footage and played with a dng file
Here are my findings so far.
- the raw does indeed add a lot of dynamic range so it's much easier to grade. For example skies
- There...
Nice tutorial Matt. I read most of your posts, good read. :)
Neat Video is truly spectacular. I use it for everything that needs noise reduction and also for sharpening. It can also reduce banding...
Hiya,
I'm using (or trying) to use Redcine in a similar way that Lightroom works. That means I may adjust the whitebalance and then I want it changed for many clips. However I can't find a paste...
Thanks for the reply Will.
From the tests I have done so far I wouldn't want to edit in raw even if it was fast. For example in Final Cut Pro X I really like that you can skim through the footage...
On another note I can mention that the G Tech 8TB Raid drives actually has 330MB/sec read and 310 write according to Davincis own benchmark program. I would expect that to be it's maximum speed...
Dj Meyer, I found that benchmarking perforcmance often needs you to really test the card in the program you plan on using. For example for grading test it in Davinci, for 3d test it in 3ds Max, Maya,...
Very interesting guys. I'm also looking heavily into storage.
My first question:
- How fast do the drives really need to be?
Myself I edit all the time from ProRess Proxies so the speed there is...
Wow very inspiring. So fantastic. Haha me and my lady just bought 2 cross bikes.
Very nicely shot, I like the details in the beginning especially when she starts to move with the bike.
Cheers!...
Personally I like hearing even if the product is late with a year or so. I find your openess refreshing. Don't listen to the upset people. We know that you may be late. I really do appreciate knowing...
I'm trying to figure out how to work with multiple channels.
We have 8 channels recorded, each on a separate file. 90% are time synced the rest are slated.
How do I easiest import and sync these...
Lots of reasons. The mechanical build quality of the case is fantastic, the screen is incredible, the cooling is great, the thunderboolt is very fast, the power in the usb connections is higher than...
I have always been a PC user but I finally own a Retina MacBook Pro laptop and I really like it. Reasons:
- no pc lapto is even close in hardware. Build quality and components are fantastic
- the...
Hmm, pity to read these comments. the OLED EVF was close on my list for upgrades but now I will wait and just use my 9" instead.

Hi Patrick.
The 512 died because of a a problem with the cable to the Red mini station. It got lose while copying so suddenly the drive didn't get power anymore. After that I couldn't access it...
Javier. Thats a pity. I ordered 6 lights from them and everything landed very quickly with no problems so my experiences are only very positive.
Best wishes.

Great points as always Phil!
For the work I'm currently shooting on my the best things Dragon offer is higher dynamic range. Better colors etc sounds very interesting even though we haven't seen...
I just had a 512GB card die on me so I somewhat regret that I don't have more smaller cards. Very scary if I would loose 512GB, basically a whole days shot. If I had 4x128GB then I would "only" loose...
How do you guys thinks that these batteries compared to normal V-Mount? Are there any benefits with using them?
