Both options should work, although actually getting timecode into the 4-Pin Lemo will require some adapters or a custom cable.

If I'm not mistaken, 1.78 was chosen as a standard because it close to the middle of 1.33 and 2.35 (though not as close as, say, 1.85). Frankly, that makes a lot of sense considering this generation...

Compressor isn't that bad. Maybe if he were encoding at really low bitrates, but overall I think it holds up well enough.

I just saw UP this weekend and the 3D was alright. Honestly, I'd rather have gone 2D. The digital projection was nice though.
