bump, $125
Really good condition. used minimally, as I switched to a different system shortly after buying this cable new, earlier this year.
$150 OBO
...
very nice. would love to be able to try that lut out.
If you like the Lomo's, might be worth sourcing a PL mount.
thanks for the updates
let’s hope.
just going off what i hear around LA, it is certainly part of what is bringing down the perception of red. and in my case it also made me think smallhd had some weird banding issues...
Yes, that’s the odd thing, and the unnerving part about handing off red footage. and it is no small wonder reds sit on shelves at rental houses, as i doubt renters care to jump into building custom...
Thanks! This is interesting. How are you getting this data?
the tone curve I often see on the output looks a bit like cheap TV's or monitors sometimes, when they mess up the tone curve and grey...
It is raw, but logarithmically encoded, if that makes sense. The highlight information in 16bit linear is largely pointless, so 12bit logarithmic encoding allows for much smaller files while being...
Unless Redcode is 12logarithmic. Then there is some sort of tone mapping going on. however, I doubt that is the culprit, as other 12bit files seem fine, and like you have mentioned before, it shows...

I'll try doing a few specific tests at some point this week on the Gemini, and send you some R3D Chris.
Up to this point, I figured it was just my lack of post workflow knowledge, but also...
The hard part is feeling confident about handing off footage if this is an issue with IPP2 defaults.
I am seeing this issue on the Gemini as well.
Thinking back, I had seen this issue on a...
what is your process?
just to expand this conversation a bit, from a viewing standpoint, i see the grey in Gemini footage when i pull below the “native” iso. So, iso800LL is pretty obvious, and exports in Davinci look...
perhaps also test for higher lower iso. see if pushing or pulling emphasizes the issue or reduces it. at least in the meantime finding a best case scnenario.
you mentioned it was the rec709 conversion, so those two things would be interlinked, at least from a topical point of view.
the raw files having the greyed out bits in the shadows, then yeaj,...
hopefully itnis a firmware thing. seems like even the Komodo is experiencing a similar, but more subtle issue upon conversion. all of this could be related to an issue with rec709 type conversions....
Red has some issue with color space conversations, as can be noted in this thread about the EVF imaging chain:
...
have you not talked to red tech support first?
i’ve seen this happen on exports from dsmc2 ipp2 cameras. generally it is very dark low contrast part of the image. i’ve only done this in Davinci Resolve.
what is your conversion process?
came out great
Well said. the camera industry is due for modern updates, and not just “film replacement box”
i whole heartedly disagree here. output lag on digital cameras are a big issue. improving the delay...
Arturo, that looks great!
