I have been using the soft rubber ones...but I'll grab a few of these

It is horrible David....I had to convert 2 projects to Cineform just to be able to get decent render times with it.

It is only with 5kHD, and rocket or non.....
the actual editing is not...

If you just press 'export' and not queue...
You are not going through media encoder....

In fact with a rocket....that is the only sure way to get RR acceleration on render...by bypassing media...

sounds like you are importing directly into Premiere....

make sure to use the media browser.....


r3d clips are limited to 4gb....so on long ones you may have 20 or more 4gb chunks.....

The point being....the cineform encoder will have all your processors...

well you could probably teach me a thing or 2 about being a better DP....:)

Just FYI, cs6 is a nice upgrade from 5.5 if you are doing a lot of red stuff...and the last version of adobe you can...

Cineforms command line converter is the fastest non rocket way of transcoding r3d that I have seen...

Uses all CPU's to 100%

Problem is it doesn't respect reds metadata and would require...

I also would sync in the timeline...if you are staying inside adobe....

you can link the audio and video in PPRO and it will create a new combined clip....

I didn't know a thing about computers until I was about 26 (11 years...

ya CS6 still required the plugin...and updates required reinstall...

although I think 6.03 fixed this...I am not 100% sure....

We used automatic...

Have you looked at the actual EDL to see the time code values it gives....

R3d can be a little weird with time code.....I export EDL's into fusion for more advanced finishing....and the import...
