There are more, but I'm tired...
Push comes to shove, most people don't need razor thin DOF on every shot… it's pretty tired.
Thanks - I'm all PL mount, so I guess the Mamya's stay in the box along with all my other old med format gear.
I hadn't looked at key.com before; the medium format lenses are really cheap. I...
As someone who has a box of almost forgotten Mamiya med format primes - how are you attaching them to the Epic?

1st A.C. and Sound dept are responsible together for making it work. D.P. is usually too busy with other decisions / problems, and has to delegate that task to the crew.
Sounds great and would work - but - probably as expensive as a jib rental (in material rental & set up time), and as conspicuous as a jib, ( even my suggestion sucks-ish), if they are trying to get...
Yeah you'd have to watch out for shadow and set-up properly even with a jib / crane, or the aforementioned C-stand. But that's why we get paid.
Essentially this with a camera hanging instead of a light:

(of course I'm Canadian and use our grip lingo…)
Maybe a piece of fence pipe (or two for stability between two rocky mountain stands with goal posts - mounting plate in the middle?
Why can't you use a jib?
Will a 'Ladder-pod' work? Hi-Hat clamped to the top step (or any step) of a stepladder…
The Mega Stage is only 45,000 square feet - not big enough… And they've never finished the "Back Lot Street Plan" that is in the works.
Fair amount of space for them to expand their studio facilities here in Toronto… Send the expansion money and resulting jobs our way!
OK - I'll take a leap...
I just ordered the 100mm Macro from Nan / GL optics. PayPal transaction, prompt emails, promise of DHL delivery to my door by middle of next week.
Pictures / footage...
Ugh - Out last weekend with my wife and mother in law (that's a whole story in of itself) and we ended up in a big box electronic store so MIL could buy a new headset.
As we were standing there,...
Eric what's the 100mm Macro like? I'm very interested in this lens. But the 'test' footage I've seen online is… well… crappy compressed, muddy, poorly lit, poorly composed, online test footage....
I still use my AF100's sometimes… and my HVX200's are going out on a job this weekend. I'm damned - I know it.
Red HQ emailed me directly (Jannard actually called me) and asked me to ignore all of your posts / questions… I'm breaking my silence because I feel sorry for you. Hopefully I don't end up on the...
Doesn't shooting '4KHD' give you a cleaner scale to 1080p? Didn't mean to add another variable, but if that's the case then...
And as always I preach: test, test, test. An afternoon of trying out...
As far as I'm concerned - neither are for judging Colour. They're just for framing.
For judging color it's all about shooting a test, and setting a look in RCX, then trusting your workflow. In he...
I've already had one made - the picture is stunning, and the 'upgrade path' only cost a few hundred bucks.
I understand the locking mech not being part of the brain - hence the need for the module adapter (that's what he's talking about in that post). I'm more curious about why the +1 has an exterior HDMI...
I wonder what the engineering problem is that they need the HDMI cable for the +1? The Pro I/O isn't the same is it?
Okay - So am I missing something?
Is the video pass through to the +1 done solely through the HDMI plug?
Thanks Bob - Searching +1 on Reduser returns every thread...
Can someone recap the ports on the +1?
2nd EVF port and? Just an extra power out? is there anything on the side they didn't show in the video?
