Just don't plan on using the zoom in a shot. It's terrible. It sticks more than any lens ever used. Using the zoom will kill any shot. I have had mine since they came out. It will not break in....
8 bucks. I wish they were 8 bucks. No more. No Less.
Uuuhhhh....that was awesome. Great energy. Amazing job. Well done.
So I was recently editing a music video. I am mixing RED produced footage with 5DIII live footage. Instantly, some, what appeared to be random clips, were covered in grey diagonal lines and had no...
I found an easy way to fix all of Final Cuts issues. For me, there were some pretty clear instructions on how to make it less buggy and act exactly like I wanted it to. Apple explains the first...
Hey Josh, not my intention to spread rumors. Going off what I have been told was fact. Like I said, if this is not true, I stand corrected. I was not there but did follow it religiously moment to...
Just going off all the interviews and threads online. I was not at NAB personally. I believe it is true that Epics were upgraded with the Dragon hardware but will not be fully functional until RED...
Did happen. Waiting on color science to be complete before any footage is possible.
Terry, did you end up going Scarlet D or Epic? Just curious. I went Scarlet D immediately.... But of coarse I am second guessing myself every other minute.
Hey Guys, sorry if this is a redundant question, probably best suited for Jeff...does PP currently use the Rocket to expedite editing. I believe a while back Jeff explained that it is really only...
Scarlet to Scarlet Dragon April 11th 11:18
Thanks Jeff. As always, you are a wealth of knowledge.
An easy part of my decision was the fact I jumped on it and did not realize they had a no change policy...do I did not have a chance to second guess it. I guess the hard part got worked out for me. ...
For me, I figure if I got an Epic trade now, it may be a year or so before upgrading to a Epic Dragon. By getting a Scarlet Dragon now I can shoot for a full year and take that extra 10K and save...
This is covered in another thread. Answer: Yup. I will lock my place in line and start shooting asap. No financial exchange has happened for anyone. I am sure we will see footage before any...
I believe, and please correct me if I am wrong, 5K on Dragon Scarlet has 1.44 crop crop factor. So it is a wider FOV than 4k on the Scarlet X but not as wide as 5K on an Epic X. Right around S35.
Thanks Clayton. As much as I wanted to go this year, I couldn't. That was kind of the impression I got online too. I agree about BM. Though I respect the developments they have made, its no where...
Got it. I see. I am still pouring through the specs. I guess I was thinking at first that it was possible to capture the same FOV of the full 6K sensor but shoot in 5K. Just a FOV question...
I also saw this on the RED.com website this morning under the upgrade specs. They are legit
Would someone mind explaining this:
1-48 fps 5K FF at 5:1 compression
Of coarse I have high hopes, but I was hoping this is some kind of option to shoot 5K in the Scarlet Dragon and utilize...
Yes it is. I choose Scarlet Dragon....and in 6 months...new Epic Dragon purchase. 2 Cams. Amazing vision. Thanks Jim.
I'm sure the RED crew has a million questions being asked. Sorry to add to that. It seems like the one question many would like clarity on is the crop factor. Does the Scarlet Dragon have a 1.3...
Will there be any branding on the Scarlet bodies that designate them as Scarlet Dragon? I may have missed that.
I assume the Dragon Epic and Scarlet have the same sensor...so cropping will occur on SD. Correct? Any method on the future to gain full FOV?
