It's "safe" to record audio to Epic but it's "better" to record onto an independent sound recorder.
Does it cover 5k?
The stupid part of this argument is that the Epic utilizes many of these "over a collective century" of developed accessories everyday it's on set!
Here's one I really liked: http://vimeopro.com/billysummers/dp/video/32115868
Is this the 16-42 T2.8 or something else?
Not a big deal.
Sometimes you get shmutz on the olpf. Just use a lens cloth, arctic butterfly or the non-scratch q-tips from filmtools and you'll be fine.
Filmtools also sells this nice little...
Sichter!!!

I had the exact problem earlier this week. I thought they had disabled audio in recent firmware builds...

Although I think your over analyzing your photography, the HDRx would help to get a little more detail into the clipped area of the trains lights.
It may be more pleasing to see a little more...
Ha! Thanks Steve:)
The full length version is currently being vfx'd.

Shot on a nice blend of Epic (A-cam) and R1 (B-cam)
Your Freaking kidding me!!!!!
I used Epic 157# in his underwater housing back in March.
Worked brilliantly. Ken is also an amazing underwater operator!
That's why JJ (Abrams) LOVES the Epic!
