Sigma 18-35 f1.8
Hyping from master "salesmen" like JC can only go so far- 2 years as it turns out. At some point you guys need to deliver true immerse experience- so far a failed effort.
Don't listen to me, my...
Do you have a full frame camera?
you bet it will work- I'll make sure of that. BTW this lens is much like the OptiTron /Prolock System- no competition on the market- absolute leading edge...
FYI You are missing the support foot from the support ring.
You can do the same today by intercutting 2/3"sensor camera with a S35 camera. Or using 2,3K on Red and (RED)full frame...
Are you sure this is a receiver?
It looks like a transmitter to me. Why would receiver have lemo connectors on it?
There are no Lemos on monitors..
With all due respect Patrick- the Dragon sensor is onlty 1.5mm wider than the MX. That's 5% gain in the angle of view. Do you really think that anyone will notice the "medium format effect" with so...
I'm not sure what you mean-50mm lens will have exactly the same depth of field at the same stop and distance in 16mm, APSC, S35, FF or medium format. Same goes for every FL lens be it 20mm or 150mm
Doen't every SDI recorder out there do that already? AJA, Atomos, Convergent, etc... they are all off camera recorders and give all formats necessary..
No it shouldn't. Strangely similar however...
Isn't that focus assist edge highlight?
AFAIK ARRI is switching to the Cooke-i protocol and system...
Are the twirlies designed to hypnotize the client ? Red anodizing- in Red Spirit!:Angel_anim:
I would define the possibility as "very unlikely"
BTW we are showing some new setups in the Sony booth at Cine Gear...
Matt do I have something to cure those ills ;)
I'm not saying they should not build the 50- I'm just saying that 50 is a lot easier to fill in for now than 16mm. how many 16mm f2s are there?
None I know of..
That's why it's a better decision to...
If you think that a $400 lens will make you look more pro than a $100 lens maybe it's time to reconsider your career ;) And it's medieval BTW
Good job Samyang! 16mm f2 is a good choice
There is...
Here you go:

What's with the fixation on the 50mm? It must be the easiest and cheapest lens to get on ebay. There a gazilion 50mm lenses out there. Every flavor. Are you worried about color matching on $400...
Any half decent lens tech should be able to refocus it for you..:)
When I say "bottle neck" it just means that the lenses always have less steps than the OptiTron.
On average the (L) lenses have 2000-3000 steps. That's way more than enough for smooth focus pulls...
We use 14 bit encoders.
Lenses are definitely a bottle neck here.
The steps on lenses vary from about 600-800 to about 6000. The L lenses have generally more steps.
That's it!!! OLED monitor is the answer!!! :wink5:
Pulling focus of still lenses is a lost battle with mechanical follow focus.
The large sensor camera needs constant tiny focus corrections to compensate for the talents small movements and the...
