I have an Epic out on a rental in a remote location with an intermittent issue like this. Anyone solve it via a simple firmware reinstall, or has it always been "send it in"? I can't do anything with...
Not to revive an old thread, but has anyone had this happen lately? I have a camera out on a job with startup issues (I have another one with a different power issue, but that's another thread)...
Now the camera is shutting down spontaneously. Looks like a support ticket/ log file/ etc.
Oy.
I just want a reliable camera, Red.

I have an AC out on a job with one of my Epics reporting a "glitchy" band on the bottom 10-20 pixels on the SDI outs on the Pro-IO module. I have him trying a couple of things (rebooting, turning off...
Well, I have seen loads of cobbled together homemade telecines on the internet. Some of them look amazing. Some look amateurish.
Here is a particularly cool one, very finished and compact, in...
Hey Red Team,
I have an idea for all those returned Red Ones.
How about making a desktop film scanner?
Simple, gentle transport that triggers a single frame on the Red each time a frame of film...
The master!
Jason & The Argonauts was HUGE for me. I took my folks Super-8 camera and never gave it back.

Funny enough, I have a sales thread that got sort of derailed by a similar topic.
I'm selling my F3 and specified no paypal, bank check only, face to face is best, I'll buy you a coffee and let you...
All decent suggestions, but as others have pointed out, the RAW check can be assigned.
I like #5 especially.

Please Jim, Mac. Don't make me use Windows. Please. I'm hoping to get to retirement before Apple really sinks their "Pro" boat...

Both of mine are very quiet... maybe contact Red?
Cheers,

Just a follow up. I sent my module in to Red, they turned it around very quickly and all is well now. Many thanks Red Team!

Harry
I've been on it for a bit now and it seems rock solid.
LOVE the new UI, the menus are better and more organized.
I saw the 1:1 magnify glitches. No big deal... honestly, that transition has never...
Hahahahahahaha post of the year. Watching any of those horrid DV movies from the '90s is PAINFUL. What was everyone thinking????
"Now we can REALLY make the film we always wanted to make, without...

Next stop eBay then. Unless by chance an F3 buyer is on reduser.net...

Old thread, I know.
I'm having a similar issue. Annoying.
Cheers,
Harry
Sorry, I just noticed this thread. I have been experiencing this issue with one particular Epic-X and Pro I/O combination. My other Epic-X and Pro I/O work fine all the time.
I haven't had a chance...
Just a quick bump. I think my sales thread got a little derailed here.
Camera is still for sale. Please take a look and PM with any questions or interest.
Cheers,
Harry

Hey Shanon,
I have sold a bunch of small items on eBay and on this forum, and of course have accepted Paypal many times with no trouble. But for some types of purchases, it doesn't compute.
Even...
I can vouch for Chong. He's a great guy, honest, and a veteran film professional.

I have a couple of interested parties but nothing definite yet. Solid camera at a fair price!

Foolcat is an excellent program. Keep up the good work. As others have indicated here, the reports make the whole camera department look more buttoned up.
Alexa/ Quicktime, as well as Sony formats,...
