Does anyone have experience with or can recommend a good Location Scout in L.A.?
In the past I've done my own location scouting, but I've got projects coming up that require more complex locations...
I was hoping to start a thread where people could post their Anamorphic Workflows. With Build 18 the camera really (as has been said) has a true anamorphic setting which is excellent and I'm very...
Well, you have to desqueeze the footage at some point (build 18 only desqueezes in the monitor). So in the workflow above you'd be editing with squeezed footage.
We shot anamorphic with build 18....
What do people think of Color in regards to this workflow?
Does no one rent? I've just found it to be a big pain owning grip equipment.
Give it time. Redcode isn't working with our Build 18 4K Ana footage yet. Sure 4.5k would be nice, but what we have now is pretty excellent.
Let them get Build 18 in release at least, before...
At the moment it appears I can only transcode Built 18 Anamorphic footage in RedRushes. I've been outputting 1920x1080, full debayer, QT prores Build 18 footage.
What settings should I use if I...
How cheap? There really isn't a cheap viewfinder that takes PL mount lenses.
Well, the proxies won't desqueeze the image, right? If you want to edit anamorphic footage desqueezed you have to transcode them.
I guess it makes sense to go full if your computer can handle it....
I'm still waiting for "Big T's Guide to Unlocking Red's True Dynamic Range and a Super Simple Red Workflow".
Seriously, I am not being sarcastic, I would pay money for that. I remember in another...
If I want to go to standard HD (1920 x 1080) with Anamorphic footage (shot in 4K Ana mode on Build 18) using the 2x desqueeze what should I set the debayer quality to?
It's my understanding that...
Would that be the area that was denoted by the box frame in B16 4K ana or is it smaller? And the entire area you see desqueezed on the monitor is what you should get, right?
So just to recap, what's the best way of dealing with Build 18 footage right now? RedRushes?
We had the same problem and rolled back to B16 just so we could get the Anamorphic framing B16 offers...
Any more news on the anamorphic mode? We're shooting a short on anamorphics and are not upgrading to 17 due to there being no more Ana mode.
It's funny, and I guess it just goes to show the different experiences you can have with Red post, but Red Cine (if you handle it right, and don't overload it with clips) has been dependable. Red...
Exactly, everything takes time. But I'm sure someone is working on it...please someone be working on it.
I'm guessing that this wouldn't work out too well, but has anyone tried mixing anamorphic footage with footage shot with spherical lenses masked to 2.35:1? Does it match at all? Or are there things...
Exactly. Press Undo, and while holding it down, press Exit. Then let go, the card will unmount. And it can all be done very quickly, you don't need to hold the buttons down for a long time or...
BigLu,
What do you use to do the batch export to DV?
Thanks,
Harky
Agree. You should be on the latest release build, which is 16, this is the build that wysiwyg really comes into play.
With build 15 I remember that, for us, if the image looked a little too dark...
The simplest way would be to use Red Rushes in FCP to transcode all your files to 2K Prores and just finish with them.
If you check out this thread:

I agree. Red batteries are terrific. Were you having a specific problem with them?
By the way does the Red Pro LCD desqueeze by any chance?
Do you know the price on the Easy Rig?
If you can wait, go for the Element Technica.
If not you have a number of solutions but none of them as good as ET's, in my opinion.
-There's the Red handles and the Shoulder mount. I'm not a...
I'm not an expert here, but I can tell you that Redlog will squeeze the info into a shorter range to help you retain more, hence the washed out look. You can see how this works when you look on your...
