It's probably because some of the components are new while others are used. We just could not afford a 100% new package. If we had, we'd be selling pencils on the street corners...

The guys at Red Support helped me out.

What I did was to unscrew the handle, and in the process the red indicator light came on. Screw it back down and now it works.

Go figure!
