Yep that's correct, you need to disable all before using it professionally.
But JVC projectors don't have that issue, they can bypass all. At least the models I have seen older than 2 years ago.

For 3D you need a 3D projector but it might be tricky the profiling... and colour management... coz is the glasses in between and the software I use (CineSpace) doesn't has any option for this... You...
All my clients that used a JVC projector since the first DiLA introduction 5 years ago have got extremely good results for film-video-web work...

All depends on color management in ALL the chain... monitor, film-recorder and lab... I have never had a problem with Dreamcolor... or any other monitor I successfully calibrate with film-outs...

I did assist a client to calibrate a Plasma Panasonic TV with good results... In now days most of Panasonic plasmas are enough...
