I have a problem with sound. We are recording sound and one take (a very long take) has no sound in the proxies. When I rendered a small part of the clip in Redcine there was sound, but it was out of...
That seems like an odd distribution. I think with REC709 you get 2 stops over and 7 stops under. A lot of people had an issue when rating the camera with 18%. Redspace goes some way towards...
Are you using it in raw view? I think the colour space you are viewing in will affect not only where you are placing 18% and skin tone, but also the the difference between them. I'm not sure, but I...
It seems to work with 3 :)
Shoot has gone back to 3 cameras so I'll try it tomorrow.
That's really interesting. I'm sure I have read specific rules on pan speeds to avoid stutter. I've never seen edge contrast mentioned before though. I guess it is similar to the way contrast and...
Thanks for the info. The shoot is now two camera so I'll give it a go.
Could you expand on that a little?
Thanks to everyone for the replies.
My experience with film tells me a shorter shutter time equals less blur. I assumed this would be true with RED. A compositor told me that the shutter didn't help with RED because it just sharpened...
I have a three camera shoot coming up and have a couple of questions. When was the Master - Slave mode introduced, B20 or earlier?
Can I chain 3 cameras?
Wow, I hadn't realized how much play there is. You were right on both counts and it works fine now. Thanks.
Hi Steve,
I'll give that a try on Monday and let you know.
Thanks,
Nick

The colours in REC709 are much nicer now. Closer to redspace.
But if you are in RAW view, you get a RAW histogram (albeit with gamma applied) and can see the absolute clipping there. I think a lot of people want their histogram based on redspace/REC709 when...
I'll post a pic soon. It's strange because they line up fine with the red bridge plate.
Thanks,
I'm using it with a RED. I thought that was what it was designed for.
How do you mean? You want to see a histogram of the RAW when not viewing RAW?
I have the old style ET bridge plate. It seems to have a strange offset for the bars. If I attach a VP, the support bracket doesn't reach the lens and the MB14 is offset to one side. It's almost like...
Sorry if this has been covered before; I couldn't find anything about it.
I was listening to Red Centre and Jason Wingrove said something quite funny, but also very true.
"The clip is always...
Those are both from a build 17 shot? Nice!
Has anyone else compared build 18 RA 3.72b with build 17 RA 3.6 yet?
Seeing as this is the difference everyone thinks they are seeing here, it's odd that no one seems to have compared them.
Paul,
There was no request for specific colour spaces as far as I know. I used to use redspace as the colour space when using REC709 gamma as Peter is doing in that example. However, with the new...
No, they were both shot at 320 and pushed to 1000. Build 18 chose a lower colour temperature which might account for the slight increase in noise.
