You're welcome guys! I can never get enough of this stuff and wanted to share. Loved how he for seen RED in a way...and his Tin Tin shirt haha. Happy holidays everyone!
" I try to read everything that Weta is doing ... tons to learn from those guys, especially how they went from indie development to a major house".
Yes I do as well. Love hearing stories about...
I've never worked with them, but always love to hear about them! Thats an insane amount of time per frame
The man has always been ahead of his time...he knew that RED was somewhere in the future... And also the "The Adventures of Tin Tin"... haha

Not sure if I should have posted this "off topic"...but I thought this would be a good "RED" discussion...so I posted it here. Anyway, not sure if this has been a topic on here or not... But I was...
You should buy glasses and modify it yourself like that. Cut the lense so it fits on in the inside of your glasses. That's what I would do...
They should make clip on lenses (3D glasses without the stems that go around the ear) that clip on the inside of the persons glasses... I think that might work?
Thanks man! Great help! I preorded my tickets at the Rockaway AMC Theater in NJ, a week ago. Knew that they had the Sony 4k projector...but wasn't sure if it was gonna be in 48fps. Now I know that it...
Thanks Tehben :)
Im just wondering... so if I do black shading at the "worst" possible setting... hotter sensor and fast shutter (above 1/1000) would that black shading, at that setting, be the "ultimate setting"?...
Or if you go faster then 1/1000 shutter if I remember correctly?
Haha this is too funny. I was actually gonna post this procedure and ask everyone if they thought it would work. But I felt stupid and never got around in testing it. Sounds like it should work....
Hey Ruff, thanks for the info! Hopefully one day I'll see your beautiful country. And yeah I saw that there was the 3D option...wonder if it was shot in 48 fps.
Just curious if anyone knew? Since PJ was part of this project and the commercial will play in the previews before the hobbit. Anyone know/work on this project? Be fun to hear...

Thank you everyone for your info. Love the RED community :)
These are great! Thanks!
This is still a learning process for me. Thanks Peter for the info.
I have to do some more testing. Some people say ( myself included) that 800 ISO is too noisy in the shadows, unusable even. And others say that its clean. Now that I've viewed from HDMI...I...
I recently read on here that viewing through HDMI @ 800iso was less noisy then the actual footage because its being down converted from 5k. That is understandable... but why is it that the real time...
You're still a help... and RC 6:1, 2k HD, 240 fps, 800 ISO, 1/696th. Yeah I hope its just my error and OFFHOLLYWOOD can maybe point it out...
Thanks for everything Matt.
I've done that already but haven't sent a R3D yet. And yes warmed up for 15-20 min. I was told that i will see some noise with high frame rates at 2k. That i should shoot at 800 ISO to protect the...
Thanks for the quick response! Thats how I understood factory and user, but I thought I might of been missing something. Monitor is fine. Footage looks worse when viewed on larger computer screen......
Thank you so much. And 2,500 ISO with body cap on, is heavily noisy for me. There was no indication that the calibration failed. Does it matter if its in factory or user before I hit the button for...
